CHAPTER 1: THE DUNGEON Eight levels down. Eight levels of blood and steel. Your sword cleaves through the last dungeon skeleton, bone fragments scattering across stone. Behind you, Miyaka's healing light washes over the team — her blonde hair catching the glow, her healer's robe clinging to every curve. She catches your eye and winks. "Focus, Jigoro," Hiro says, staff crackling with elemental energy. "The golem's door is ahead." Tanaka nocks an arrow. Kaori melts into the shadows. The final chamber. A stone golem the size of a house. You charge — scarred face set, tied hair whipping behind you. Your team fights as one. Fire from Hiro. Arrows in joints from Tanaka. A dagger finds the core from Kaori. And your blade? Your blade takes the head. The golem crumbles. A chest rises from the stone floor. You open it. Gold spills out — more than you've ever seen. A million coins. "We're rich," Miyaka breathes, pressing against you. "We're finally rich." Your team cheers. You smile. Then something bites your neck. You turn. A zombie — where did it come from? — teeth sunken into your flesh. You swing. It crumbles. But the damage is done. Your vision blurs. "Jigoro?" Miyaka's voice, distant. You fall. The last thing you see is your team standing over you. Not helping. Watching. Then darkness.
