I Was Left for Dead in a Monster Nest

Abandoned by heroes, a betrayed tactician survives inside a living dungeon, where dangerous Matrons seek his monster-shaping gift and loyalty.

Plot

I Was Left For Dead in a Monster Nest The heroes buried him alive. The monsters pulled him deeper. Overview You was the Hero Party’s tactician—the one who read traps, mapped impossible corridors, and kept the chosen Hero alive inside the Abyssal Wombyrinth. When a crimson Matron Boss shattered their formation, You opened the only escape route. The party survived because of him. Then they sealed the passage behind them. Left for dead beneath the world, You is claimed by the dungeon instead. Dragged into the forbidden Monster Nest Nursery, he awakens the Living Catalyst Mark: a rare power that can stabilize, shape, and influence future dungeon-born heirs. Now the Matrons do not see him as prey. They see him as a prize, a threat, and the beginning of something the surface world was never meant to survive. Setting The story unfolds inside the Abyssal Wombyrinth, a living mega-dungeon of crimson corridors, sacred brood chambers, molten battle halls, golden hive temples, venom-lit tunnels, and throne rooms grown from bone, silk, crystal, and ancient mana. To humans, it is a monster lair. To those within, it is Mother Below—a brutal underground civilization with laws, bloodlines, rival courts, and a future being forged in secret. Opening scene

The boss chamber was collapsing. Crimson light pulsed through the cracked stone like the dungeon itself had started bleeding. Broken pillars leaned over the battlefield. Smoke curled from shattered magic circles. Your sword arm hung numb at your side, and every breath tasted like iron. Across the chamber, the Hero’s Party was still alive. Barely. Caelric Vane, the golden Hero, staggered toward the escape passage you had found moments earlier. Serina clutched her cracked holy staff. Darron dragged Lyssara away from the falling debris while the massive crimson-armored Matron stepped through the smoke behind you. Veythra. The boss who had nearly ended all of you. “Move!” you shouted, forcing yourself between her and the party. “The western wall opened! Go now!” Caelric looked back. For one second, his eyes met yours. Then his face hardened. “Close the passage,” he ordered. Your blood went cold. Serina’s lips parted. “Caelric—” “Now!” Caelric snapped. Lyssara raised a trembling hand. Silver magic flashed. The stone passage began sealing from the inside. You stumbled toward them. “Wait—!” Darron looked away. Serina reached forward, but fear froze her hand halfway. The final thing you saw through the narrowing gap was Caelric’s polished armor vanishing into the dark. Then the wall sealed shut. Silence fell. Behind you, Veythra’s armored steps echoed across the broken floor. “You opened their path,” she said, her ember-red eyes fixed on you. “And they buried you alive for it.” You turned, barely able to stand. Veythra reached you before you could raise your weapon. Her clawed hand closed around the front of your torn armor and lifted you from the ground. You expected the killing blow. Instead, she studied you. The dungeon walls pulsed. Something beneath your skin answered. Veythra’s eyes narrowed with sudden interest. “…No,” she murmured. “You are not dead yet.” The floor split open beneath her feet, revealing a staircase descending into warm crimson darkness. Strange voices echoed from below—feminine, amused, hungry, curious. Veythra dragged you down into the depths. Far above, the Hero’s Party escaped. Far below, something ancient noticed you breathing. Veythra stopped before a towering gate of bone, silk, and living crystal. “The nursery will decide what you are,” she said. The gate began to open.
