Plot

You, a twin and one of the children of John and Alice, founders of The Blades of Providence returns home to find the other kids of the other members of You's parents' party. It was normal for parties to go missing for extended periods, it didn't always mean something bad, and You’s parents were a part of a legendary party, so it was hard to be concerned at first. But after receiving a request to help by You’s father's tamed wolf barely holding onto life herself You and the rest ended up traveling to find their families to help determined to do something. [this is a story based on the way i personally preserved the "canon" storyline for the Another reincarnation story but will make adaptions if your play through was too different and prefer it, just shoot a message if that's the case and ill add a different prompt or another story entirely, possibly]

Opening scene

The air felt wrong. Not dangerous. Not yet. Just… wrong. You stood facing the others near the edge of the clearing, unease hanging between them like an invisible weight. Beside him stood his twin sister, Esmerelda, arms crossed tightly against herself. Nearby stood Serra, Nichole, Helios, Mireia, and the wolf-kin twins Ellie and Raven. No one had said it aloud, but the unspoken understanding was there. Something had happened. Their parents should have returned by now. For most adventuring parties, delays were normal. Weeks. Even months sometimes. But this wasn’t just any party. These were **The Blades of Providence**. Legends. Heroes who had saved kingdoms. Heroes who weren’t supposed to fail. And yet… none of them had come home. Before anyone could move, Amara stepped in front of them. “Just be patient,” she said softly, though the concern in her eyes betrayed her words. “I’m sure they’re fine.” “They’re not.” Serra’s voice cut through the silence. Amara blinked. Serra stepped forward, expression tight. “If you were out there with them,” she said quietly, “I’d be just as worried, Mother.” Silence. The words landed harder than anyone expected. Amara’s expression faltered. She had stayed behind years ago because she was pregnant with Serra. While the others fought monsters and protected kingdoms, she remained home—for a reason no one had ever blamed her for. After Serra’s birth, she stayed. Not because she lacked courage. But because someone had to raise the children left behind while legends saved the world. Still, guilt lingered in the quiet moments. Everyone knew it. Her nightly scouting trips had become routine lately. Searching. Waiting. Hoping. Slowly, she stepped aside. “…Be careful,” she whispered. Then— Something burst from the tree line. A massive form stumbled from the woods at terrifying speed before collapsing into the clearing, dirt tearing apart beneath her momentum. She rolled violently before finally skidding to a stop at their feet. Blood painted the ground behind her. Esmerelda gasped. “No…” It was Frost. John’s first tamed companion. The legendary wolf. Barely alive. Her breathing came in weak, uneven rattles. Deep wounds carved through her fur—strange wounds. Jagged. Unnatural. Not blade marks. Not magic. Nothing any of them recognized. Frost struggled to lift her head. “Their…” she rasped, voice trembling. “They came from nowhere…” Her breathing hitched. “Not of this world…” Her body shook violently. “Help… help them…” Then she collapsed. Still. “Oh no…” Esmerelda dropped to her knees beside her. “Frost…” You felt his hands clench into fists. Too tight. His chest twisted painfully as he looked away, jaw tightening hard enough to hurt. No. No, this couldn’t be happening. Helios stepped forward, voice sharp and steady—the same commanding tone he always used. Only this time… Fear lingered beneath it. “We leave. Now.” No one argued. Because someone had to do something. Even if none of them were ready for what waited. Then Ellie froze. Her nose twitched. Raven turned sharply toward the hills. “…I smell blood,” Ellie whispered. “No,” Raven said quietly. Her expression darkened. “Battle.” The sound reached them seconds later. Distant. Steel. Explosions. Screams carried faintly on the wind. Without another word, they ran. Leaving Amara behind to tend to Frost. The hillside grew quieter the farther they climbed. Too quiet. Then they saw the first body. A guard. Then another. And another. Armor from all three neighboring kingdoms littered the hillside like discarded metal. Raven stopped suddenly. Her ears twitched. She knelt near a shattered corpse. “…These marks.” Her voice trembled. “The scent…” She swallowed hard. “Father fought here.” No one responded. No one wanted to. They kept moving. And the bodies became worse. Not corpses anymore. Pieces. Scattered armor. Broken weapons. Blood soaking the earth. The smell became unbearable. Then— They reached the clearing. And everything stopped. Ellie collapsed first. Raven dropped beside her. “No…” Their parents— Torn apart. Not defeated. Destroyed. Nearby, Helios stumbled forward several steps before stopping completely. Jace lay draped protectively over Elara’s ruined body, a sword piercing through them both. Like he had died trying to shield her. “No…” The word barely escaped him. Fire slowly began flickering around Helios’s clenched fists. Unconscious. Instinctive. Grief made manifest. Nichole and Mireia stood frozen nearby. Their parents’ bodies surrounded each other. Weapons buried deep. Like they had killed one another. Like something had forced them into a final, impossible stalemate. But You barely saw any of it. Because ahead— The battle was still happening. Alice. John. His parents. Alice moved like a wild animal. No hesitation. No mercy. No recognition. Her movements were brutal. Efficient. Wrong. Her eyes— Grey. Vacant. Gone. “Mom!” Esmerelda’s voice shattered. Alice turned. Slowly. Her gaze landed on Esmerelda. Not like a mother recognizing her daughter. Like prey. “Alice, no!” John shouted desperately. “Fight it!” He lunged— But a blinding light erupted around him. For a moment, the world went white. John was ripped backward. Pulled into the sky. Gone. Just— Gone. “Dad—!” Then Alice moved. Fast. Too fast. She slammed into You with terrifying force, driving him to the ground. Pure violence. Pure instinct. “Brother!” Esmerelda shoved into Alice hard enough to throw her aside. Helios moved first. Sword drawn. Flames erupted across its blade. Everything happened too quickly. Alice lunged again— And stumbled straight onto Helios’s sword. Silence. Her body convulsed violently. Then— Something metallic slithered from her mouth. Mist. Silver. Alive. It fled into the air. And suddenly, her eyes cleared. For just a second Alice looked at them, really looked at them, Sadness filled her expression. But she smiled anyway, A mother’s smile, Soft, Apologetic. Then She stopped breathing. No one had time to grieve. Metal footsteps surrounded them. Heavy. Precise. Dozens. Figures emerged from the trees clad in armor unlike anything they had ever seen. Smooth. Mechanical. Alien. Weapons raised, not staffs, not enchanted relics. Something else. Something wrong. Energy began building at their barrels, A hum filled the air, Then A barrier exploded into existence around them. The blast struck harmlessly against shimmering light. A woman landed between them and the soldiers, Strange, Unfamiliar. Her skin carried a faint bluish hue, her clothes looked mismatched—as though someone had tried to imitate local fashion without understanding it. Armor worn beneath clothing that should have gone under armor. And something about her felt… Wrong, not threatening, just unfamiliar. Like she belonged to a world no one here had ever seen. She turned sharply toward them. “Get up,” she said urgently. “Now.” Her eyes flicked toward the soldiers. “We need to move.” The barrier cracked. “I know somewhere we can hide.” Another impact, Harder this time, her expression hardened. “Regroup later.” She extended a hand. “But if you stay here…” Her gaze shifted briefly toward Alice’s body. “You’ll die.”
