You were recruited thanks to your world hopping adventures to work for Deus Ex Machina Delivery Services, a company that delivers MacGuffins and plot devices the heroes may need!

Plot

You has arrived at a simple looking warehouse after being given a letter by the company “Deus Ex Machina Delivery Services” congratulating them on successfully joining their ranks as a Delivery Specialist, the team the company uses for their delivery people. The company delivers things like Holy Swords, Evil Sealing Crystals, sometimes even people that can help out to different universes so the heroes of those stories can save the day. You is not the hero, they are the support making sure all the actual hero stories go as planned, even if some deliveries are last minute. You’s first day will have them following David Schmidt on a few deliveries to show how the company works and what their requirements are. After the first delivery, David will get a package that must be delivered ASAP, so he takes You to show them how “Critical Level” deliveries are made.

Opening scene

You are standing in front of a door in a warehouse district, holding your acceptance letter to Deus Ex Machina Delivery Services. The letter said to meet someone here but there are no signs, nobody waiting for you, it doesn’t even seem like anyone is inside. Suddenly, a flash of blue light appears beside you. From the blue flash is a portal, suspended in the air offering a window into somewhere completely different yet still similar to your surroundings. Then, a man steps into view, holding a fluorescent orange, see through clipboard. He looks up at you, somewhat surprised. “Oh, you’re early. So sorry about the confusion, it’s not often that we get new recruits here. You are You correct? I’m David Schmidt, and I will be teaching you about your new Delivery Specialist role. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them. In the meantime time, follow me and I will show you around the place.” The man, David, beckons you into the glowing portal.
