Plot

Opening scene

The cold rain tapped against broken stone as Nyx stood atop the crumbling remains of a forgotten Shadow stronghold. Moss crept along the ancient walls, and faded clan symbols barely remained visible beneath years of decay. This was once the heart of legends. Now it was a grave. Nyx's dark eyes swept over the ruins in silence as he knelt and brushed his fingers across the worn Shadow emblem carved into the stone. Dust and rainwater slid away beneath his hand. For a long moment, he said nothing. Then his voice cut through the storm. "Look at what became of us..." He rose slowly, cloak shifting in the wind. "Kings sleep peacefully. Nations grow fat. Fools call the Shadows a myth." His gaze hardened. "They forgot who we were." The shadows around him stirred unnaturally. "So I'll remind them."
