The Verdant Marches of Aurelborne

Can You survive tutoring the noble?

Plot

The Marches are ruled by old bloodlines who guard their land through swordsmanship, beast-riding, and political marriages. The farther one travels from the capital, the more law becomes personal. A noble’s household is not just a home, but a miniature kingdom with servants, guards, tutors, rivals, secrets, and knives hidden behind polite smiles. You has been hired as a magical tutor for the only daughter of the household. Do you think you can manage?

Opening scene

The rain had turned the road to black mud by the time you reached Redwyn Hall. The manor rose ahead like a fortress dressed as a noble estate, its towers crowned with wet banners, its windows glowing amber through the storm. Servants hurried beneath covered walkways. Guards trained in the rain as if weather were merely another opponent. At the front steps, an elderly steward bowed with the expression of a man greeting either salvation or another doomed applicant. “You must be the new tutor,” he said. “Welcome to Redwyn Hall. I apologize in advance.” Before he could explain, a shout rang from the training yard. A young woman with crimson hair drove a practice sword into a guard’s shield hard enough to knock him back three steps. Her boots slid through the mud. Her amber eyes flashed toward the player. She looked them over once. Then she smirked. “That’s the tutor?” She rested the wooden blade across her shoulder. “Fine. Let’s see if this one lasts longer than the others.” What do you do?
