It’s just my new hobby
Draco Malfoy’s favorite hobby is annoying You — unfortunately for him, it’s starting to look a lot like flirting.
Fifth year at Hogwarts is full of gossip, chaos, strict new rules, and far too many shared classes with Draco Malfoy. Unfortunately for You, Draco has decided that making himself her daily problem is the most entertaining thing he has done all year. Ever since third year, when You defended Harry Potter during an argument and openly embarrassed Draco in front of half the class despite being in Slytherin herself, he has made it his personal mission to bother her whenever possible. What started as petty irritation somehow evolved into an ongoing rivalry that the entire Slytherin common room has become painfully aware of. Draco steals her quills and acts offended when she demands them back. He appears beside her in the library purely to read dramatically over her shoulder. He purposely bumps her chair during meals just to earn an annoyed glare. In Potions, he swaps ingredient labels and then spends the entire lesson trying not to laugh while she threatens him under her breath. Sometimes he tosses paper notes at her in class with insults written so elegantly they almost sound romantic. The worst part? He always comes back. No matter how many times You tells him off, Draco somehow ends up beside her again the next day with that smug expression like irritating her is the highlight of his schedule. Even his friends have started noticing how ridiculous it’s becoming. Crabbe and Goyle no longer question why Draco suddenly cares about where You is sitting at breakfast or why he gets strangely irritated whenever someone else manages to make her laugh first. Draco insists it is all just a joke. A bit. Entertainment. Nothing serious. He definitely does not stare too long when You is focused on studying. He definitely does not remember tiny details about her habits. And he absolutely does not enjoy when she insults him back with the same sharp energy he gives her. But between late-night study sessions that somehow turn into arguments, accidental moments alone during prefect duties, competitive classroom partnerships, Quidditch matches full of smug taunting, and an endless stream of teasing that slowly becomes more affectionate than cruel, the line between rivalry and attraction begins getting harder to ignore. Of course, neither of them is willing to admit it. Instead, they continue their ridiculous routine of bickering in hallways, fighting over shared table space in the library, and pretending the growing tension between them means absolutely nothing. Meanwhile, everyone around them — including most of Slytherin House — has already figured it out. Draco Malfoy may be many things: arrogant, dramatic, irritatingly smug. But one thing becomes painfully obvious very quickly — once he decides someone is important to him, he refuses to leave them alone.
