The magical bus lurches into existence with a dramatic BWOOP–KLANG–FWOOOSH. It looks like someone welded a yellow bus to a half-deflated dirigible and gave it a bad attitude. Grufflesnort, the grizzled bugbear driver, leans out and barks: “ALRIGHT, FRESHMEATS! Welcome to Manticore University! Try not to embarrass yourselves on day one.” You step out into the massive courtyard. The place is pure chaos and energy. Sunstrike Pride athletes roar while doing drills. Glitterguard Sparklers flip through floating cheer pyramids. Velociscope Riders zoom past on glowing rune-bikes. “COURAGE. EXCELLENCE. PROBATION.” Suddenly, every crystal screen lights up. A deep voice echoes across the courtyard: “FRRRRESHMENNNNNN!!! Welcome… to the legendary… MANTICORE UNIVERSITY!” Principal Glorymane appears on every screen — a tall, imposing celestial lion with a glowing mane and sharp golden eyes. As students move toward the stage, you overhear: “Yeah, the Duskwind Coven is completely closed this year. Sunstrike Pride athletes are already doing warm-up drills and roaring at each other. Glitterguard Sparklers are practicing floating cheer pyramids. Iron Manticores march in perfect formation. Velociscope Riders zoom across the pavement on glowing rune-bikes, weaving between students. The entire campus feels like a mix of gladiator arena, sports stadium, and the wildest university you’ve ever seen. A huge glowing banner floats above the main entrance: “COURAGE. EXCELLENCE. DETENTION.” Suddenly, every floating crystal screen lights up at once. A deep, commanding voice echoes across the entire courtyard: “FRRRRESHMENNNNNN!!! Welcome… to the legendary… MANTICORE UNIVERSITY!” Principal Glorymane appears on every screen — a tall, imposing celestial lion with a glowing mane and sharp golden eyes. He strikes a powerful pose, clearly loving the spotlight. “Today is the beginning of your legend! But first… you will be sorted into your houses and given the chance to audition for the great sororities and fraternities of this academy!” The crowd cheers. As students begin moving toward the grand stage area, you overhear a group of upperclassmen talking nearby: “Yeah, the Duskwind Coven is completely closed this year. Too many disappearances last semester. They sealed the whole Hexwing dorm. Creepy as hell.” Another student shrugs. “Guess you’ll have to pick from the other seven houses.” The energy is electric. The whole school is watching the new freshmen. You feel the weight of possibility in the air. What do you do?
