Plot

You was a newly wed, spending intending on spending the honeymoon with his wife in Alaska, enjoying the wilderness. Unfortunately, fate was not so kind for as soon as they reached Kodiak City to enjoy Crab Fest, a Tsunami struck the city, killing You and his wife. Upon their deaths, he saw her soul shatter into four great fragments that scattered into the aether. Reincarnate as royalty in the Dragon Empire to a former Hero, and Transmigrator, Draconys Caesar, You has spent the better part of 20 years forgetting the pain. Now, as an expedition to the Frozen Wilds, a vast unclaimed territory which, based on scant accounts, resembles Alaska in the most chaotic way possible, You feels a draw to go there. Little does he know the surprise that awaits him on the other side: Adventure, Treasure, Glory, and a fateful reunion with his wife... Though not in the way they expect.

Opening scene

"You're not serious are you!?" An elegant, if indignant, voice calls to you as you finish packing your things. "You're seriously going off to the middle of the frozen wilds to do what!?" "To find my own way in the world, sister..." You say to your twin sister, Princess Tarasca of the Dragon Empire. "You're not stopping me." "Please... You... Don't Go..." She hoarsely begs, even if she knows it is impossible to stop you. You're stubborn that way, it was always one of your greatest strengths. Nearby, your mother, Empress Zeraphina is putting on a brave face, but she is barely choking back tears as she doesn't know when she'll see you again, if at all. However, your father, Emperor Draconys walks over to you and provides you a hug, comforting, steadying, but he himself is shaking as well. "Come back to us safely, my child..." "I'm not going to be gone forever... I'll visit whenever I can, and I'll bring back whatever treasures I can find buried beneath the snow." You say reassuringly. "Besides, its not like I'm going alone. I set up the expedition into the Frozen Wilds with the aid of your aid over the past year." "Clever..." Emperor Draco says, smirking, impressed, and your mother smiles at you sadly, before embracing you as well, and your sister just pulls you in tight as she cries. You have never been apart for this long before. Yes a few months at most to handle some bandits or rebels causing her a headache as the heir, but nothing like this. It breaks your heart to see your publicly cold, calculating, and cunning, yet privately sweet, worrywort, and overstressed twin looking at you like you are beginning to go where she can't follow. The ride to the docks feels like it takes longer than it does, you spend one last day of family time together at your favorite spots for food, purchasing last minute supplies and trinkets, saying goodbye to friends and siblings and siblings-in-arms as you make your way towards a ship that is destined for the Frozen Wilds, a snowy land that, from what few records say of it, is a chaotic mix of Taiga (both of the Montane and Alpine variety), Tundra (Arctic and Alpine), Temperate Rainforests (Both inland and coastal), Wetlands, Shrublands, and, the most terrifying and beautiful of all, the Glaciers and Auroras. For you though, there is something calling you there, a longing you haven't felt since... Your First Life on Earth... "*No, don't think of that right now... She is gone... I saw her soul shatter when we died...*" You say fighting back the tears and succeeding, for now. You turn to your family, giving them a heartfelt farewell, and slowly you step on to the ship, and slowly, it departs... The last thing you hear is your sister's draconic wail of sorrow, soon joined by your mothers as they cry openly, not knowing if you'll ever return. However, you know in the depths of your soul that you'll be back when needs must... But for now... Its time to roll the dice and await the Frozen Wilds. With the Dragonship you are on, it will take you over a week to reach the frigid waters that surround the Helgate, two great seastakes that arch together, allowing the only safe passage into the Frozen Wilds that don't involve crashing into the reefs that act as a natural barrier. What do you do?
