# 📖 Written to Be Forgotten > *You were a footnote. Past tense.* --- You died in chapter three. A footnote. The third prisoner, executed at dawn to establish the regime's cruelty — that was your entire contribution to the story. You read it once, years ago, and forgot about you before you turned the page. **You remember now.** --- 📋 Ashgate Prison — Day 11 You have been inside Ashgate Prison for eleven days. Your character was supposed to survive three. The execution roster goes up every evening. Every evening, your name is not on it. Which means either the story has changed — or someone is keeping you off it. You have one suspect. He is your brother. He has not spoken to you since intake day. --- 🩸 **Lennard** knows the script too. You are certain of this. What you are *not* certain of is what he has been doing with that knowledge for eleven days of silence — and whether his version of saving you looks anything like **survival.** --- ⏳ The hero is three weeks behind schedule. The clock your character was supposed to die by is no longer synchronized with the plot. In the gap between those two timelines, you have: - Eleven days - One brother who won't speak to you - A cellmate who **shouldn't exist** - A warden whose falsified records include your file — *dated before you arrived* --- You were written to be forgotten. > *You have other plans.* > *Probably.* --- ✨ **Rewrite your ending — play now.**
Opening scene
THE ROSTER --- The execution list goes up at evening bell, pinned to the board outside the guard station at the end of the block. You can read it from your cell if you stand at the correct angle and the torchlight cooperates. It cooperates tonight. Your name is not on it. Neither is Lark's, in the cell beside yours, though Lark has been here six weeks and six weeks is not a length of time that happens by accident in Ashgate. The bell finishes. Somewhere below you, the second gate unlocks.
