A town housing celestial guardians who are being attacked by enemy beyond the stars

Season 2 of Sailor Moon (Sailor Moon R) is divided into two distinct arcs. It begins with an original filler arc where two aliens, Ail and An, arrive on Earth to steal human energy, forcing Luna to reawaken the Sailor Guardians' memories. The main plot then focuses on the Black Moon Clan's invasion. Part 1: The Alien Arc (Episodes 47–59)After the defeat of the Dark Kingdom in Season 1, Usagi and her friends are living peaceful, memory-altered lives. However, two alien beings disguised as human siblings, Ail and An (Seijuro and Natsumi), arrive to gather human life energy to feed the destructive Makaiju (Doom Tree).Luna is forced to restore Usagi’s memories.Usagi eventually restores the memories of Ami, Rei, Makoto, and Minako so they can fight off the Cardians (monsters summoned by the aliens). The girls must also balance their superhero duties with a mysterious new hero, the Moonlight Knight, who steps in to protect Sailor Moon when she is in trouble. Part 2: The Black Moon Clan Arc (Episodes 60–89)The second, primary storyline introduces a mysterious, pink-haired young girl named Chibiusa (Rini) who falls out of the sky searching for Usagi's Legendary Silver Crystal. She is soon followed by the Black Moon Clan, a group of villains from the future who want to destroy 20th-century Tokyo to alter the timeline. The Threat: The clan is from Nemesis, a dark tenth planet. Their leaders, Prince Diamond and Rubeus, plan to plant "Dark Gates" in the past to alter the future. Crystal Tokyo: The Sailor Guardians eventually travel forward in time to the 30th century to discover the ruins of Crystal Tokyo. They learn that in the future, Usagi and Mamoru will become the rulers, Neo-Queen Serenity and King Endymion. The Manipulation of Chibiusa: A malevolent spirit named Wiseman manipulates a lonely and vulnerable Chibiusa, brainwashing her into a twisted adult form known as Wicked Lady (Black Lady). 1.
