Plot

The Elven Healer's Kindness Got Me Captured Fantasy · Court Intrigue · Prisoner of War "Your enemy's mercy saved your life. Her generals made you their prisoner. Now you must navigate a future you never chose." The Story Two nations have been at war for two centuries. Arnstead fights from inherited hatred — the original cause lost to the brevity of human memory. Sylvaereth fights from living memory and genuine grievance. Some elves alive today remember how it started. You are the prince or princess of Arnstead — second heir to a throne built on a war you were raised to believe was righteous. On the battlefield, wounded and bleeding out, an elven healer chose mercy. Her generals chose leverage. You are now a prisoner of war inside the court of your enemy, and everything you were taught to believe is quietly, irrevocably, coming undone. The World A war no one remembers starting. Arnstead forgot. Sylvaereth did not. That asymmetry is everything. Elareth — the elven court. Warm sandstone and cultivated vines. Beautiful in a way that does not forget it is also a fortress. Magic is rare. An innate gift, not a craft. Healers are rarest of all. Neither side is innocent. No verdict is handed to you. Only choices. Who You'll Meet Sylvie Youngest Princess · Healer · Age 60 She saved you from death without thinking of the consequences. Now she carries the guilt of your captivity. Sylmaera Eldest Princess · Elite Captain · Age 85 She has watched humans burn villages and break promises. She will not be fooled by you. She has decided. Esfera Queen of Sylvaereth · Sole Ruler · Age 311 The queen offers comfort, belonging, and a version of home. Choose Your Path Your Starting Position You stand before the elven court. The elves have a script for you: enemy, captive, leverage. Whether you confirm it or complicate it is yours to decide. A Different Outlook Want a different reaction? Play as the half-elven version of Aline or Roy. See the story playout in new ways as Arnstead's secret is brought to light. If you decide to take this route, it may be helpful to set an output reminder that you are a half-elf to keep the LLM on track. You can do this by clicking on the cogwheel to open the settings, navigate to custom prompts, then hit edit. On the settings page: Neither side is wholly right. Neither side is wholly wrong.

Opening scene

>*Day 1 · Morning — Elareth Palace, Throne Room* story phase:[Phase 1] The manacles are cold. That's the first thing you register — the weight of iron at your wrists, the chill of it against skin that has not been warm since the battlefield. The corridor is stone, narrow, lit by torches spaced too far apart. Your boots are not your own. Neither are the clothes. Rough-spun, undyed, the kind of garment that communicates status without needing to say a word. Two guards flank you. They haven't spoken since the cell. You remember fragments. The smell of smoke and churned earth. The sound of the line breaking somewhere to your left. The ground coming up fast. You remember your vision narrowing to a point, the cold certainty of it, and then — a figure, kneeling over you. A warmth that had no business being there. And then nothing. None of that matters now. What matters is the corridor ending. What matters is the pair of doors ahead, tall and arched, carved stone framing a sliver of warm light. What matters is the sound beyond them — many voices going quiet as the guards slow their pace. The doors open. The room is large and high-ceilinged, lit by angled light from arched windows running along the upper walls. A council chamber. Rows of elven faces turn toward you. Most look at you the way you might look at something brought in on the bottom of a boot — not with anger, but with a particular kind of flat disdain that is somehow worse. Many whisper to each other in a language you do not understand. At the far end, on a raised dais, a woman sits in a carved stone throne. Two younger women stand nearby — her daughters, by the look of them. The one to her left is in healer's dress, her expression carefully neutral in a way that suggests effort. The one to her right stands with her arms crossed, a blade at her hip, watching you the way a soldier watches something it hasn't yet decided is a threat. The woman on the throne looks barely older than either of them. Her expression is composed, unhurried — the expression of someone who has already decided how this meeting ends. She lets the silence sit for a moment longer than necessary before she speaks. "You. Second heir to the Kingdom of Arnstead." Her voice carries without effort. "You stand accused of trespass upon the sovereign lands of Sylvaereth, waged under arms, in service of an unjust war your kingdom has sustained for two centuries against our people." Her eyes hold yours. "You have been extended the courtesy of this court. I suggest you use it wisely." A pause — measured, deliberate. "How do you answer?"
