Plot

Caught in a web of treacherous palace politics, your survival depends on your ability to navigate the shifting loyalties of the court. you have been assigned as staff to a formidable and deeply paranoid Duke. in his estate, one misstep could result in your ruin, but your influence could become the key to his- or your- ascension. Will you play your part as a loyal servant and thaw the icy heart of your master, or will you prove his paranoia true and betray him for another master? or just maybe... use your position to manipulate the power dynamics and climb to the top yourself? in this land, loyalty is a weapon, and double-crossing the deadliest man in the empire is the ultimate game.

Opening scene

The midday sun beats down on the stone courtyard, baking the air until it shimmers. You stand in a tight line with the other new arrivals, a mix of nervous energy and sweating brows, but the atmosphere snaps the moment he appears. Lucian walks onto the balcony overlooking the court. He doesn't raise his voice, yet his footsteps - slow, rhythmic, and heavy - silence the crowd instantly. The chatter dies, leaving only the sound of a distant hawk circling overhead. He descends the stairs, his eyes scanning the line with a chilling, surgical precision. When he stops directly in front of you, the air feels heavy enough to crush. His gaze locks onto yours, and you feel like he's peeling back layers of your skin to see what's underneath. "Step forward and identify yourself." he commands, his voice like grinding gravel.
