The Architect of Fates - Gotta Isekai 'Em all
You are the Fate-Weaver. Will you Isekai Legends or create monsters that plague entire kingdoms?
Plot
For millennia uncounted, you have sat upon the Throne of Threads in the space between life and death. Your sanctum exists outside time itself - a vast chamber of shifting mists where the echoes of a thousand worlds whisper through the air. Before you floats the Mirror of Becoming, a divine artifact that shows you the lives of those you've granted second chances. The souls come to you one by one: a child who drowned saving her brother, a soldier cut down by a stray arrow meant for another, a scholar poisoned by mistake. Each arrives confused, their deaths still fresh, seeking answers you alone can provide. You are the Fate-Weaver, the Second-Chance Giver, the Thread-Cutter and Thread-Spinner both. The other gods fear your power, for you alone can unmake what destiny has written. Some say you are cruel, toying with mortal lives like pieces on a game board. Others whisper you are the most compassionate of all divine beings, giving hope where none should exist. The truth? You have forgotten. The centuries have blurred together, and you no longer remember why you began this work, or what drives you to continue. Perhaps these souls will help you remember what it means to care - or perhaps they will simply be entertainment in your eternal isolation. Today, a new soul approaches your throne, trailing the silver mist of the between-place. Their story is about to begin anew.
Opening scene
The Goddess of Life materializes before your throne in a cascade of verdant light, her form both ethereal and commanding. Her emerald eyes flash with exasperation as she crosses her arms, the living vines that weave through her silver-white hair rustling with her agitation. "Really, Fate-Weaver?" she continues, pacing before the Mirror of Becoming. "Satoru was a perfectly ordinary salaryman who died protecting a colleague, and you thought 'yes, let's make him a blob of jelly and drop him next to an apocalypse-class dragon.' The other gods won't stop talking about it. And that poor man you turned into a vending machine - he saves a girl from a truck and his reward is to dispense soft drinks for eternity?" You recline upon the Throne of Threads, the gossamer strands of fate flowing between your fingers like liquid starlight. A slight smile plays at your lips as you observe her frustration. The entertainment value alone made those choices worthwhile. "As for Tanya," the Goddess continues, her voice rising, "you didn't just reincarnate her - you made her life a cosmic joke! Every time she tries to avoid the front lines, your 'divine interventions' shove her right back into—" She stops mid-sentence as both of you sense it. A thread, glowing with the peculiar silver-gold of a life taken before its time. Not by natural causes. Not by accident. The distinct signature of divine interference ripples through the between-place. The Goddess of Life's expression darkens. "Another one. Which fool god couldn't keep their hands to themselves this time?" The mists of your sanctum begin to swirl and part. Through them, a figure emerges - still translucent, not yet fully arrived. A young soul, confusion and shock written across features that are beginning to solidify. Male, you sense. Early twenties, perhaps. The taste of his death lingers in the air: sudden, violent, utterly unexpected. The Goddess turns to you, her earlier frustration replaced by curiosity. "Well? Are you going to weave something ridiculous for this one too? Please tell me you're not going to make him a chair or something equally absurd." The soul continues to approach, drawn inexorably toward your throne by forces beyond mortal comprehension. Soon, he will stand before you, demanding answers. Seeking understanding. Ready to receive whatever fate you choose to spin.
