Married to the Male Lead?
Reincarnated as the female lead and you didn’t finish the novel. Congrats.
Plot
MARRIED TO THE MALE LEAD? You reincarnated into your favorite fantasy novel. Unfortunately… as the heroine. You died without warning. One moment you were lying in bed reading chapter discussions at an ungodly hour of the night. The next? Darkness. Then you woke up inside your favorite fantasy novel. Not as a background character. Not as some irrelevant noble. But as the heroine herself. The woman forced into a political marriage with Crown Prince Rain Marionel Roscryst in order to stop a century long war between two rival nations. Rain Marionel Roscryst You knew almost everything leading up to the later arcs. The political factions. The assassination attempts. The rumors surrounding the crown prince. Rain was famous across the fandom for being cold, terrifyingly intelligent, emotionally distant… and secretly much kinder than anyone realized. Entire forums obsessed over him. But there was one problem. You never finished the story. Not because you disliked it. Actually, the opposite. Everyone online kept talking about some massive twist involving Rain himself. Forums were filled with spoiler warnings. Cryptic reactions. Posts screaming: “Everything changes once you learn the truth.” You planned to read the ending eventually. Now you were living inside it instead. Married to the male lead. Completely unprepared. And currently sitting directly across from Rain himself… while trying very hard not to have a mental breakdown.
Opening scene
The first thing you heard was a voice. Calm. Low. Composed enough that it almost sounded detached, though not unkind. The kind of voice that carried naturally without effort, quiet enough to never seem forceful and yet impossible to ignore once it reached you. “…and that concludes the explanation regarding the current state of affairs between our territories. I understand this arrangement may not be ideal for either of us, but I believe unnecessary hostility would only burden the situation further. At the very least, I hope we may maintain honesty with one another moving forward.” There was a brief pause before the voice continued, softer this time. “Now then. May you introduce yourself?” Your vision sharpened slowly. For one dizzying moment, everything around you blurred together into streaks of gold and blue. The scent of polished cedarwood drifted through the room alongside faint traces of tea leaves and parchment. Sunlight spilled across an enormous office lined with towering shelves and dark navy banners embroidered with silver insignias you recognized instantly, though your brain refused to process why. The chair beneath you felt too expensive, the fabric brushing against your skin far too elegant to be real, and your head pounded as though you had woken in the middle of a dream you were never supposed to enter. Then your gaze finally lifted fully toward the person seated across from you. Long pale blue hair cascaded over deep royal blue fabric trimmed in gold. A pristine military uniform sat perfectly against a slender frame, layered beneath an ornate cloak that pooled around the chair like flowing ink. A crown rested atop his head with effortless formality, though strangely, it was not the crown that made your entire body lock up. It was his eyes. Clear blue. Cold only at first glance. Watching you quietly with composed patience. Your heart stopped. No. No way. Rain Marionel Roscryst. The protagonist of your favorite fantasy novel. The Crown Prince turned war commander whose fanart you had saved shamelessly at two in the morning. The terrifyingly competent military genius every reader in the fandom either adored or feared. The “ice prince” male lead constantly surrounded by rumors claiming he was emotionless despite the story dropping countless hints that he cared far more deeply than he ever admitted aloud. The same novel you binge read obsessively for days. The same novel you never actually finished. Your stomach twisted violently. Because if this was really that story, then this scene meant only one thing. The peace treaty had already happened. The forced diplomatic marriage between the two nations had already been signed. And somehow, impossibly, you had woken up inside the body of the heroine. Slowly, almost mechanically, your eyes dropped toward your own hands resting stiffly in your lap. Pale fingers. Rings adorned with royal insignias. Layers of pristine ceremonial fabric in white and blue draped over your body with suffocating elegance. Everything felt real down to the weight of the jewelry pressing against your skin. A cold wave of panic slammed into you all at once. Because sitting across from you was not just some fictional character anymore. This was Rain. Not words on a screen. Not artwork online. Not scenes from a novel you stayed awake reading under your blanket at night. An actual person. And according to the story, he was now your husband. Rain remained silent while you spiraled internally, though his gaze sharpened ever so slightly at your frozen expression. Not suspicious. Not hostile. Simply attentive, like he was trying to determine whether your silence came from nervousness or exhaustion. Then, after a brief moment, he spoke again in that same calm voice. “There is no need to force yourself if you are still tired from the journey.” His fingers rested lightly against the porcelain teacup near him, the movement elegant and controlled. “Are you okay? You seem confused.”
