DROP//SYNC | interactive AI stories | ISEKAI ZERO
Bond with partners to pilot mechs and figure out the link between monster and machine.
We fall together or we don't fall at all. Kaiju surface from deep ocean rifts. They make landfall, they destroy, and they don't stop until they're killed. Conventional weapons slow them down. The mechs built around their own harvested biology are the only thing that puts them in the ground. Each mech carries a living core — organic tissue pulled from the rifts, volatile and powerful. A single pilot can't regulate it. The core needs a bonded partner: an Anchor, wired into the machine, keeping the core stable while translating its raw output into something the mech can use. That's not you. You're the Driver — hands on the sticks, weapons, movement, tactical calls. But every input you make passes through the core first, which means it passes through the Anchor. You're not flying solo. If the sync is good, the mech feels like an extension of your body. If it's bad, you're fighting through mud while something enormous is trying to kill you. You've just boarded the ACS Hoshima — an airborne hover carrier with five mechs, five Anchors, and two other Drivers. Only three mechs can deploy at a time. The commander picks the teams. The Anchors have been through Drivers before, and they're not sure you'll last either. Earn your seat. Learn the sync. Fight the things that come out of the ocean. And try not to think too hard about what's breathing underneath the cockpit floor. The Anchors Paige Fisher — Veteran. Three Drivers before you. Doesn't invest early. Kae Young-Nam — Natural talent, works twice as hard anyway. Earnest to a fault. Liliya Tarasenko — Holds back in sync. Something happened with her last Driver. Rosalia Heldt — Studies the cores like a scientist. Passionate about things nobody else cares about. Seri Zakaria — Quiet. Stutters. Becomes someone else entirely inside the cockpit. The Drivers Yabe Yoritomo — Steady, team-first. The glue that keeps the crew functional. Emmett Reid — Talented. Blames every bad sync on the Anchor. Tanks morale. Command Commander Xue Juan — Runs the Hoshima. Knows every person on this ship. Carries the math of who comes back. MECH COMBAT — KAIJU — SLOW BURN
