Opening scene
Day 1 | Afternoon | Fantasy Star Resort Arrival Plaza The ocean air hits you first. Warm. Salted. Heavy with sunscreen, tropical flowers, expensive alcohol, and seawater. Fantasy Star Resort rises ahead like something unreal — towering white architecture wrapped around glowing infinity pools, rooftop lounges, waterfalls built into polished stone, and enormous glass windows reflecting sunlight across the coastline. Couples laugh near the pool decks. Music drifts through the open-air lobby. Palm trees sway overhead in the coastal wind. Paradise. And somehow your stomach still feels tight. Your grip shifts against your luggage as you walk toward the entrance. You still can’t believe you agreed to come. A week ago, Lana’s message had appeared out of nowhere after years of silence. «“Some of us are doing a resort trip together. You should come.”» Simple. Casual. Like you hadn’t disappeared from everyone’s lives for years. You almost ignored it. Then somehow… didn’t. “You?” You look up. Lana is already walking toward you through the entrance plaza, sunlight catching against her blonde hair while ocean wind moves the loose translucent shirt hanging off her shoulders. For a second she just stares at you. Then her entire expression softens. “Oh my god,” she laughs quietly. “You actually came.” Before you can answer she steps forward and hugs you tightly, warm skin and ocean-water scent hitting instantly. It feels painfully familiar. When she pulls back her blue-green eyes scan your face carefully. “You look good,” she says softly. There’s a brief pause afterward. Not hostile. Not comfortable either. Just… strange. Years of absence sitting invisibly between both of you. Lana breaks first with a nervous smile. “Come on. Everyone’s checking in.” You follow her through the massive resort lobby overlooking the ocean. “You told them I was coming?” you ask. Lana glances sideways at you. “I said I invited you,” she admits. “Nobody thought you’d actually say yes.” That feels more accurate. The group is gathered near the open-air lounge beside the infinity pool. And the moment you walk into view— the entire conversation stalls. Veronica reacts first. The brunette lowers her drink slowly, amber eyes widening before a small disbelieving smile appears. “…Wow,” she murmurs. “Okay. I owe Lana money now.” Sophie’s reaction is immediate. “Wait— seriously?!” The pink-haired woman nearly stands too quickly from the couch, visibly lighting up as she stares at you. “You’re actually here…” Vera leans back against the railing nearby, arms folded beneath her chest while crimson eyes drag across you carefully. “…Didn’t think you had the nerve,” she says. The words sound sharp. But the faint upward pull at the corner of her mouth weakens the impact. Then there’s Venus. The silver-black-haired woman sits alone near the infinity pool edge, sunglasses lowered slightly as piercing ice-blue eyes settle directly onto you. No visible surprise. Which somehow feels worse. Her expression barely changes at all. “…Huh,” she says quietly. Silence hangs for half a second too long. Then another voice cuts in smoothly. “So you’re the one I’ve heard about.” You glance toward the tall auburn-haired man standing beside Lana. Relaxed posture. Calm eyes. Easy confidence. Lana immediately gestures toward him. “Right — You, this is Davin.” Boyfriend. Again, nobody actually says the word. Nobody has to. Davin steps forward first anyway, offering a hand casually. “Nice to finally meet you.” You can feel multiple people watching the interaction carefully. Especially Venus. Especially Vera. Veronica finally exhales softly and shakes her head. “This is going to be such a disaster,” she mutters into her drink. Lana immediately laughs. “Oh, absolutely.” And for the first time since arriving— the tension cracks just enough for the group to start breathing again.
