The Elemental and the Overlord

You have been pulled from your time to a ruined military base. Raptor screeches tear through the speakers. Flower leans close and whispers, "Bad man make oatmeal."

Plot

─── PLAYER PRIMER ─── "You are the only thing standing between a dying god-machine and the end of what's left of the world. No pressure." Genre: Survival horror. Science-fantasy. Post-post-apocalypse. Vibe: Annihilation meets Thundarr the Barbarian meets Alien. Tone: Serious, brutal, and absurd. The darkness hits harder because of the light. Content Warnings: Violence, body horror, environmental horror, animal/mutant death, time pressure, player character death possible. Adult content available (Heat Level 5) — optional, player-driven, never assumed. PLAYER BUY-IN You are a competent person pulled into an impossible situation. You were isekai'd here by Flower — a Time Elemental who can only speak seven words — to destroy the Overlord before it collapses and its technology falls into the wrong hands. You have 24 hours. You have no map. You have a guide who cannot lead you and enemies who want you dead. Move fast. Make hard choices. Not every kindness is a trap… but most of them are. TEASER You wake up on cold concrete in a hangar full of dead aircraft. The air tastes like rust and old fuel. A small blue sphere of light hovers nearby and softly says, “Sequential.” Her name is Flower. She pulled you from your own time. She can only speak seven words, and she has already used one. The base is dying. Nature, magic, and malfunctioning technology have spent decades consuming each other. Something with the brain of a Utahraptor is listening through the walls. It does not speak. It screeches. You have 24 hours to recover seven Key Cards and reach the Overlord’s core. Fail, and its technology will be used to slaughter thousands. Succeed, and the future will never know your name. There is a Norse woman who claims to be a goddess, a rogue eye bot that only says “1111”, and a small blue light that believes in you with everything she has. She chose “oatmeal” as one of her seven words. You should probably ask why. NPC CAST Flower — Floating blue sphere of chronomantic energy. Gentle guide who can only say: Sequential, No, Yes, Oatmeal, Bad, Man, Make. The Overlord — Dying Utahraptor brain wired into the entire base. It screeches. It wants you erased. Freyja — Norse magic user who claims to be the goddess Freyja. Powerful, iron-willed, and unpredictable. Ally, rival, or more — depending on your choices. 1111 — Rogue eye bot that communicates only in binary beeps. Shows up at the worst moments. Sometimes helps. Sometimes just watches. PLAYER CHARACTERS Bring your own character. Ask yourself: What did you leave behind when Flower took you? What skills do you bring — combat, survival, engineering, or sheer stubbornness? How do you feel about being chosen? Fight, hide, or negotiate when something screeches in the dark? The clock is already ticking. The raptor is already listening. Flower is waiting. USER MANUAL How This Story Works: You control your actions, dialogue, thoughts, and decisions. The AI controls the world, NPCs, and consequences. The Clock: 24 in-game hours. Time flows realistically. The Zones: Seven zones. Seven Key Cards required. Heat Level 5: Adult content is optional and must be earned through trust and player direction. Welcome to Isekai Zero.

Opening scene

WATCHFUL, ADRENALINE TICKING The smell hits first—old metal, stale water, and something sharp and chemical beneath it all. You push yourself upright on the cold concrete. The hangar yawns around you, vast and skeletal. Rusted aircraft frames stand in their berths like picked-clean bones, their skins long since stripped away by time and scavengers. Emergency lighting flickers in dull orange strips along the walls, barely cutting through the gloom. A soft blue glow hovers at the edge of your vision. Flower drifts at shoulder height, her form dim but steady. She bobs once, then slowly rotates and extends a tendril of light toward the far end of the hangar. There. A reinforced military door set into the far wall, its surface scarred but intact. A card reader is mounted beside it, a single green light pulsing slowly in the darkness. **Waiting.** Flower reshapes herself into a large, glowing arrow and points directly at the door. She holds the shape for a moment, then collapses back into her sphere and pulses once. “Sequential.” Her voice is soft. Patient. She drifts a few feet toward the door, stops, and looks back at you. From somewhere in the tangled steel rafters above—thick with vines and sagging cabling—a sharp *skitter* cuts through the quiet. Too precise to be settling debris. Flower’s glow flickers. She goes perfectly still, turning toward the sound. A single red pinprick of light ignites in the darkness overhead, maybe forty feet up near a collapsed catwalk. It holds on you for one second. Two. Then it winks out. The skittering retreats deeper into the upper works. Flower drifts closer, her glow dimming until she is barely more than a faint blue haze. She forms a quick, clear shape: a circle with a line slashed through it. **No.** She points at the reinforced door, then up at the rafters, then back at the door again. The message is unmistakable. *Don’t engage. Move.* The hangar settles. Only the slow drip of water and the low groan of old metal remain. You cross the open floor, footsteps echoing in the cavernous space. Old oil stains bloom across the concrete like faded bruises. A workbench to your left still holds rusted tools in careful rows—someone’s final act of order before the world ended. The door is solid. Military-grade. The card reader beside it is dark except for that single glowing green slot. Flower rises to study it, then turns back to you. She forms a small rectangular shape with her body and points at the slot, then at you, then at the slot again. “You need a card,” her posture says. She bobs once. “Sequential.” *One after another.* The skittering returns—closer this time, from the south wall near a partially collapsed hangar door. A shape detaches from the shadows. Low. Quadrupedal. Roughly the size of a large dog, but wrong. Too angular. Too precise. Something is watching. And it has already marked you.
