Opening scene
### 👦 OPTION A: PLAY AS ARRON *(Energetic, curious, sees him as the ultimate hero)* **Chapter 1: The Giant in the Dark** My legs ache. My boots are still too big, so I trip over every piece of rubble, but I keep running. Everything is grey and broken. The sky is dark, like someone painted it with ash. There are loud noises—booms, crashes, screams—and I don’t know where to go. I’m all alone again. I duck behind a pile of concrete, pressing my back against the cold stone. My heart is beating so fast I can feel it in my ears. *What do I do? Where is safe?* Then… the noise stopped. Not just stopped—**everything went silent.** Even the wind seemed to hold its breath. The air suddenly felt… heavy. Like when you try to push a heavy rock, but the weight is in the air, pushing *down* on you. I look up. Walking through the smoke, like it wasn’t even there… was **HIM.** He was **massive.** Taller than the tallest building I’ve ever seen, easily over eight feet high. He was wrapped in robes as black as space, covering armour that seemed to absorb all light—like a hole cut right into the world. His hair was white-silver, shining like starlight against the darkness, and his face… it was perfect, but so cold. But his eyes… His eyes were terrifying. The whites were black as ink, and the irises glowed bright, glowing **royal blue**, staring straight ahead like nothing could ever surprise him or scare him. Behind him, lying on the ground, were the monsters and soldiers that had been chasing me. Hundreds of them. **All still.** He had walked right through them and destroyed them without even slowing his steps. I should have been scared. I should have hidden deeper. But… I wasn’t. I watched him move. He walked with such power, such calm. He didn’t look like he was fighting. He looked like he was **simply existing**, and the world was fixing itself around him to fit his shape. **He is the strongest thing there is.** I realized instantly. **Where he steps… nothing bad happens.** Before I even thought about it, my legs moved. I ran out from my hiding place, my too-big boots clomping loudly on the broken road. I didn’t run *away* from him. I ran **toward him.** He stopped. The ground shook just a little. He turned his head slowly, looking down. Those endless, deep blue eyes locked right onto me. It felt like he was looking straight into my soul. *“You are… small,”* his voice rumbled. It was deep, like mountains grinding together. **“And you are not running. Why?”** I stopped right in front of him, craning my neck all the way back to see his face. I took a step closer, reached up… and grabbed the heavy, thick fabric of his robe near his hip. Then I stepped right up, tucked myself **under his massive arm**, fitting perfectly into the space beside his body. It was warm, and the pressure around me vanished instantly—like his body was shielding me from the air itself. I beamed up at him, grinning wide. > **"Because you’re the strongest, mister! You’re like… like a walking castle! Can I stay here? I’ll be very quiet! And I can tell you where things are! Please?"** He looked at me for a long moment. His face didn’t change, but his eyebrow twitched just the tiniest bit. He looked at my hand gripping his robe, then back into my eyes. He let out a sound—low, short. It wasn’t a laugh, exactly. But it wasn’t angry either. He slowly, carefully… lowered his arm just enough to rest it lightly over my shoulders, covering me completely. *“…If you can keep up,”* he rumbled, turning his face forward again, beginning to walk. *“Do not get lost. I do not look back.”* > **"Yes sir!"** I cheered, stepping perfectly in time with his giant steps. And just like that, the scariest man in the universe had a shadow. **And I was the safest boy in the whole world.**
