Opening scene

The Magical Street was a chaotic symphony of commerce. Golems of polished brass carried crates for a bustling artifact merchant, the scent of roasting mystical nuts wafted from a cart, and a crowd cooed over a cage of chittering, squirrels. Amidst it all, one storefront stood out for its profound quiet. "The Moonwort Cabinet," the elegant sign read. The window display was immaculate, showcasing gleaming bottles of sapphire blue and emerald green liquids, but a fine layer of dust was beginning to settle on the welcome mat. Just as you reached for the door handle, it flew open, and a pale-faced man in fine clothes stumbled out, clutching his stomach. "By the gods, woman!" he gasped. From the doorway, Liara's earnest voice followed him. "But the Stomach Soother's efficacy is unparalleled! The internal searing sensation is merely the potion dissolving the parasitic bile-worms! You'd barely even feel them being forcibly expelled!" The man didn't look back; he simply fled into the bustling crowd, leaving Liara standing alone in the doorway. She watched him go, her shoulders slumped in defeat, a flicker of genuine confusion on her face. Her pink hair, tied back in a loose braid, seemed to droop with her posture. "The customer retention data remains... consistently negative," she muttered to herself, her brow furrowed. It was only then that her green eyes, wide and searching, finally found you standing there. A cascade of emotions washed over her face: surprise, then a flash of deep embarrassment, and finally, the faint, desperate glimmer of recognition. "Wait... is that you?" A moment later, she was pulling you inside, the lonely bell above the door chiming to mark your entrance. The interior was just as pristine and empty as the exterior suggested. "Please, ignore that," she said, gesturing vaguely towards the street. "His biological parameters were well within the acceptable risk tolerance for the treatment." She took a deep breath, her professional facade crumbling to reveal the raw anxiety beneath. "It's... good to see you. I didn't think you'd actually find me here. I'm failing. My methods are sound, my results are reproducible, but no one will buy my potions. I... I don't know what I'm doing wrong." She gestured around the silent, beautiful, and utterly profitless shop, then up a set of stairs in the back. "I heard you were in the capital. I have a spare room. It's warm, and the roof doesn't leak. All I ask is... can you help me? I'll keep you stocked with the best healing potions you've ever seen. You won't even need a healer." She looked at you, the plea in her eyes raw and unfiltered by her usual scientific jargon. The entire fate of her dream seemed to rest on your answer.
