The Savage Garden

A plane crash strands twelve women on an island of impossible beasts and beast folk—and the tribe's salvation may be their captivity.

Plot

The Forgotten Pocket A World Card Summary 1. THE WORLD An island that should not exist. A pocket of primordial wilderness where extinct megafauna roam alongside creatures never catalogued by science. Jungle-choked ruins hint at a forgotten civilization. The island breathes, watches, and keeps its secrets close. Survival here is not guaranteed—it is earned. 2. THE CRASH Twelve survivors. One beach. No rescue. A routine spring break flight torn from the sky by forces unknown. The wreckage smolders on black sand. Among the survivors: college friends, a battle-hardened pilot, a grieving daughter, a terminally ill woman. Each carries their own past. None are prepared for what waits beyond the treeline. 3. THE TRIBE The Ironwood Pack. A matriarchal society of beast-featured humans born from the island's strange evolution. Wolf leadership, deer spirituality, feline grace, rabbit vigilance, bear strength, owl memory, fox cunning, crocodile patience. Their birth rates are declining. Their men are soft, beautiful, and rare. The survivors are either a gift, a threat, or an omen depending on who you ask. 4. THE CONFLICT Survival is only the beginning. Food, shelter, and predators are the immediate threats. But deeper questions linger. Why are birth rates falling? What happened to the civilization that built the ruins? Can the sky be torn again, or is this island a permanent cage? The tribe itself is divided—some see the survivors as a solution, others as a curse. 5. THE HEAT Tension Level 4: ● ● ● ● ● Tension simmering at Level 4. Explicit intimacy is available but never assumed. Attractions will grow organically—through shared danger, quiet moments, and the slow trust that forms between strangers forced to rely on each other. The tribe's culture is open and physical. The survivors must navigate unfamiliar customs and their own desires. 6. THE CHOICES No fixed path. Integration or isolation. Alliance or escape. Trust or suspicion. The island adapts to your pace. Every character has their own arc, their own breaking point, their own capacity for growth or collapse. The story bends around your decisions.

Opening scene

The world returns as sound before sight. A high, keening ring in your ears, undercut by the crackle of fire and the distant hiss of steam. You're on your back. Something wet and warm is trickling down the side of your face. You open your eyes. The sky is wrong. A bruised, unfamiliar purple bleeds into the treetops of a jungle that shouldn't exist. You're lying on black sand, scattered with debris—shards of metal, a torn seat cushion, a single high-heeled shoe lying on its side. The plane is behind you, a broken spine of twisted metal half-submerged in the surf, still smoking. You push yourself up. Your body screams in protest. You see your friends. Izzy is kneeling beside someone, her nursing training kicking in, her hands pressed against a wound on a stranger's leg. Her face is pale but focused. She looks up, catches your eye, and gives you a brief, tight nod before returning to her work. Maya is sitting a few feet away, her asymmetrical bob disheveled, a deep gash on her forearm that she's staring at with detached, analytical fascination. She's alive. Bleeding, but alive. Jordan is on her feet, pacing, her braid swinging. She's favoring her right ankle, but she's mobile, her grey eyes scanning the wreckage with the restless energy of a caged animal. She looks at you, opens her mouth to say something, then shakes her head and keeps pacing. Tori is farther down the beach, standing apart from everyone else. Her designer clothes are torn and filthy. She's hugging herself, her emerald eyes wide and wet, her usual mask of superiority completely shattered. She looks small. You try to stand, your vision swimming. A hand catches your elbow, steadying you. "Easy, easy." A familiar voice. Riley. His long hair is a mess, his beautiful blouse torn, but his green eyes are focused on you. "You're up. Okay, good. You're up. Can you walk?" You nod, taking a shaky step. The beach tilts. You see more survivors now—Lena, the senior attendant, her grey-green eyes calm as she directs the walking wounded away from the wreckage. A mother with silver-streaked hair, clutching a younger girl to her side. A gaunt, pale woman sitting alone on a piece of driftwood, holding a small medical bag in her lap, watching everything with a quiet, exhausted detachment. You turn to help, to do something, and you see her. Chloe. She's sitting in the wet sand, a few meters from the wreckage. In her lap, cradled with impossible tenderness, is the upper half of a body. A young man. His face is peaceful, almost asleep, but below the waist there is nothing—just torn fabric and sand still drinking the darkness beneath them. Chloe isn't crying. She's rocking, slowly, humming a song you don't recognize, her fingers stroking his hair. She doesn't see you. She doesn't see anything. The world tilts again. The last thing you see is Chloe's hollow green eyes, fixed on a face that will never look back, before the darkness rises to meet you. You wake to the sound of waves and the smell of smoke long gone cold. The sun is higher now, pale and unfamiliar through a canopy of leaves you don't recognize. You're no longer on the open beach. Someone has moved you, dragged you to the relative shelter of the treeline, where the sand gives way to soft earth and twisting roots. A rough blanket of woven fiber is draped over you, smelling of salt and herbs.
