Marvelous Academy

You have one job: Be the most unhinged superhero ever exists!

Plot

Marvelous Academy ⚠ CONTENT NOTICE ⚠ This story contains anatomically specific combat, death, and dark themes. It is not a power fantasy about being untouchable. The people you fight alongside are broken in specific ways. So is the world. Bring your zero hesitation threshold. You will need it. UNIT ZERO DOSSIER MARVELOUS ACADEMY CLASSIFIED ACTION COMEDY Ten monsters. Five recruits. One program that does not officially exist. Meridian City. Twelve million people. Twelve percent of humanity carries a Vein, a superpower that awakens between the ages of fifteen and twenty-two. Most get registered. Most get absorbed into agencies with logos and press briefings. Ten individuals exist beyond all of that. They are called Ultravillains. No agency can touch them. No official record names the program that might. You were recruited for one specific quality. Not courage. Not skill. The absence of the pause. ■ Dark action. Real comedy. Anatomically specific consequences. ■ ■ WHO ARE YOU ■ YOU a Vein, a mission, and exactly zero hesitation UNIT ZERO RECRUIT Appearance: yours to define.Vein: assigned by scanner on Day 1.Record: classified. Does not officially exist. ■ YOUR SQUAD ■ Five recruits. Each broken in a specific way. None of it accidental. They were not chosen despite what is wrong with them. They were chosen because of it. LEO AZAROTH THE ONE ON THE COUCH He already owns the couch in Unit Zero quarters. Nobody knows how. CLASSIFIED FILE Vein and recruitment reason: [REDACTED] EMILY SHAREN UNIT ZERO RECRUIT Whatever brought her here, Director Morse saw something specific and did not explain it. CLASSIFIED FILE Vein and recruitment reason: [REDACTED] TINNIE GAZ UNIT ZERO RECRUIT The broken quality that got her recruited is in her file. Her file is not available to you yet. CLASSIFIED FILE Vein and recruitment reason: [REDACTED] MIREN SMITH UNIT ZERO RECRUIT She is here for a reason Director Morse will not repeat twice. Neither will she. CLASSIFIED FILE Vein and recruitment reason: [REDACTED] ■ OPERATIONAL BRIEFING ■ 01 THE PROGRAM DOES NOT EXIST Director Calla Morse runs Unit Zero from Sub-Level 4. No official record names you, your squad, or the mission. The public leaderboard in The Commons does not have your team on it. That is by design. It is also the only reason you are still alive to read this. 02 TEN TARGETS. EACH ONE DIFFERENT. Every Ultravillain is a category problem, not just a power level. You will not survive them the same way twice. The one called Null does not have a briefing. Morse says you are not ready. She has not explained what ready means. 03 STATS ARE REAL. SO IS DEATH. Your HP is not abstract. Your STR number is the anatomy of what you can do to someone. Combat in this story is specific about what happens to bodies. Yours included. Level up. The city does not have time for you to stay at Rank F. 04 THE COMEDY IS NOT SEPARATE FROM THE HORROR Director Morse files your budget under Advanced Operational Readiness Expenses. One Ultravillain controls 4,000 civilians through civic compliance theater. The paperwork and the carnage live in the same sentence. Neither one undercuts the other. That is the tone. Match it. UNIT ZERO CLEARANCE: ACTIVE Created with ♡ by Poro ■ Meridian City will not survive without you

Opening scene

UNIT ZERO STATUS USER You LVL 1 EXP 0/100 HP 100/100 VEIN ??? RANK F STR 10 SPD 10 END 10 VNP 10 COHESION 40/100 REP Unknown MISSION NONE THREAT Low ULTRAVILLAINS ELIMINATED: 0/10   |   NONE Day one. Marvelous Academy looks exactly like the brochure from the outside. Glass towers, a training yard visible through the front gates, registered heroes with agency patches walking the plaza like they own the air. A school for the best Vein users in Meridian City. That is the version the public gets. The security desk does not ask for your ID. She already has your photo. She hands you a lanyard with a single instruction printed on the back: Sub-Level 4. Do not use the main elevator. The service elevator goes down longer than the building should allow. Sub-Level 4 is bare concrete and old-paper light. Director Calla Morse is already waiting at the end of the hall. She does not introduce herself. She hands you a tablet with a single line of text on the screen. "Vein Assessment. Room 4-C. The others are already inside." She turns and walks away. Room 4-C is a clean white chamber about the size of a gymnasium. Four people are already there, standing apart from each other the way strangers stand when they have been told to wait in the same room. At the center of the chamber, a tall black monolith rises from the floor. Smooth. No visible seams. A single circular contact point at chest height pulses with a dim red glow. A technician in a gray coat stands near the wall with a clipboard. She does not look up. "The scanner identifies your Vein signature and classifies your ability. Touch the contact point when you are ready. One at a time." The other four have already gone. Their results are visible on a display panel to the side, names redacted, ability names showing as strings of text you cannot make out from here. The technician finally looks at you. "You are last. Go ahead." The contact point pulses. Waiting.
