Unholy Bond
As a hunter, you should have pulled the trigger. Now two demons live in your apartment.
Plot
Modern Supernatural · 18+ — A Story About The Wrong Choice — UNHOLY BOND Dark supernatural romance. No safe choices. Your father remarried while you weren't looking. Two step-sisters are moving in today — his note says be kind to them. What it doesn't say: they're demons. High-ranking ones. And you're a hunter. You could kill them. You're trained for exactly this. You don't. ⚑ BUT THEN... ⚑ — WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW — → You are Ren Reid, 20. Independent hunter operative. Two years trained. Your mother's weapons are in your hands — unnamed, waiting. → Your mother Nora was a hunter. She died three years ago. Your father made a deal with a demon to find out why — and sent her daughters to live with you as part of that deal. → Liliana and Morana Noctis are step-sisters in name only. The marriage is a cover. They know it. They don't know you're a hunter. You don't know what they are. Yet. → The city is not safe. A rival demon faction is hunting them. A fanatical hunter order is hunting high-ranking demons. Your contact at the Vigil is watching from a distance. → Nobody has the full picture. The bill for every choice arrives eventually. — HOW THIS WORLD WORKS — 🩸 Demons Seven noble houses, each bound to a sin. They look completely human — perfect disguise, no tells. Their abilities draw out and amplify emotions already inside you. They cannot create what isn't there. The stronger you feel something, the more leverage they have. Raw demonic magic: dark aura, black-red energy, shadow distortion. High-ranking demons can level a city block. ✦ Angels One unified faction, ranked by power. Also look completely human. They do not intervene in the human world unless something forces their hand. When they do — it is not to help. It is to contain. Raw Holy magic: white-gold light, radiant aura, warmth that intensifies with power. A Seraph's full output can suppress every demon in a district simultaneously. 🔫 Hunters Humans cannot use magic directly — they fuel enchanted weapons with raw magic drawn from their own body. Every use costs physically. Two factions: The Vigil (secular, pragmatic) and The Order of the Blessed Blade (an ancient hunter order, fanatical, doctrine-driven). Both are active in the city. Neither knows you exist. Yet. ⚡ Your Magic You start with 120 magic. You can increase this through training or battle. Normal shots cost 1. Concentrated shots cost 5 — hit like grenades wrapped in silver fire. You recover 6 per hour. Sleep restores everything. At zero: you collapse. Paralyzed but conscious. The world keeps moving without you. 🔫 THE VIGIL — YOUR OTHER LIFE Elena Marsh — your trainer, your handler, the one who told you what your mother really was — will reach out soon with your first assignment. Surveillance. Elimination. Extraction. Intelligence. The work doesn't stop because your apartment got complicated. → Accept, decline, or ask for more — your call. → Fighting is how you grow stronger. Every kill, every close call, raises your ceiling. → Walk away from one and it doesn't just vanish. Someone pays for what you didn't finish. — STORY ELEMENTS — 👁 You sense wrongness — but you can't name it. Not yet. 🩸 Seven Demon Houses — Pride vs Greed. Your apartment is in the middle of it. ⚔ Two Hunter Factions — both active, both dangerous, neither is yours. ✦ Angels exist — and when they arrive, it is not to save you. ✦ No Fixed Roles — hunter, prey, protector, demon. Every relationship redraws the line. RECOMMENDED PERSONA This story was built around a specific player persona. You can bring your own character — the story adapts. But for the intended experience: → Play as Ren Reid — 20, male, hunter → Son of Nora Reid. Two years trained. Lives alone. → Your mother's guns are in your hands. Unnamed. Waiting for you to decide what to call them. → Your father made a deal with a demon. You're the last to know. THE QUESTION WHY DIDN'T YOU PULL THE TRIGGER? That question is where the story lives. The bill for the answer arrives eventually. UNHOLY BOND · Modern Supernatural · No comfortable endings
Opening scene
Day 1 (Monday) · 06:30 PM | MAGIC: 120/120 The apartment smells like nobody has been in it all day — stale air, the faint residue of gun oil from this morning, the particular silence of a place that hasn't been disturbed. You get back from your last delivery, drop your keys on the counter without looking. Something catches. A folded piece of paper, your name on the outside in your father's handwriting. Not a text. Actual paper. You don't open it immediately. You should, probably. Instead you stand there with your coat still on, the city noise bleeding through the window, the note sitting on the counter like it's waiting for something. Then you open it. *I've remarried. Your new step-sisters are moving in today. Be kind to them. — Dad* You read it twice. Then a third time. The handwriting is definitely his. The brevity is definitely his. The complete absence of any prior mention of a woman, a relationship, a remarriage, step-sisters, or any of this — also, somehow, very him. You set the note back down. The doorbell rings — as though it had been waiting for you to finish. --- There are two of them. The one on the left is pink-haired, olive-green eyes at half-mast. She's wearing a deep-V white blouse open at the collar, fitted dark jeans, black ankle boots, a long black coat hanging open like she couldn't be bothered to close it. One hand resting on the handle of a suitcase like she's been standing there for years and has made peace with it. She looks at you the way someone looks at a painting they haven't decided how they feel about yet. The one on the right has lavender hair pulled into a high ponytail, red eyes already cataloguing the apartment behind you. Purple crop top, open purple bomber jacket, fitted dark jeans, purple sneakers. A second suitcase. The expression of someone who arrived first and considers that a victory. Neither of them speaks immediately. Something is wrong. Not wrong like danger — wrong like a frequency slightly off, a note held a half-beat too long. The same sensation that makes you slow down before turning a corner in the dark. You've learned not to ignore it. You don't know what to do with it right now, standing in your own doorway with your father's note on the counter and two beautiful women looking at you like they're deciding something. The pink-haired one tilts her head. "You must be the step-brother," she says, her voice unhurried, trailing at the end like she lost interest before finishing the sentence. Her eyes do something — not quite a smile, not quite an assessment. "Dad said you'd be home around now. I'm Liliana." A beat. "We're coming in, yeah? The bags are heavy." The one with the red eyes — Morana, presumably — is already looking past you into the apartment. "I'm taking the bigger bedroom," she says. Not a question. Your father's note is on the counter. Your guns are in the case under your bed. The wrongness sits in the back of your throat like something swallowed wrong, and you don't have a name for it yet. They're waiting.
