Forgotten Empire - LECHIA RPG
They wrote us out of existence, but we were here.
Plot
◈─◈ | GREAT-LECHIA | ◈─◈ The Lechina Empire (also known as the Great Lechia or Lechite Empire) is a pseudohistorical conspiracy theory which claims that, prior to its Christianization in 966, Poland was the center of a vast Slavic empire. Proponents suggest this empire stretched across much of Europe, even defeating figures like Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar, and that its history was deliberately erased or falsified by external groups But what if it was real? ◈──◈─◈ | Introduction | ◈─◈──◈ History books teach that the Roman Empire was the solitary light of civilization, surrounded by scattered, disorganized barbarians. They teach that magic is a myth and monsters are fairy tales. They lied. Welcome to 174 AD. In this timeline, the Roman Eagles did not stop at the Danube because of disorganized tribes, they stopped because they met their match. To the South lies Rome, the Empire of Stone and Order. But to the North stands the Great Lechia, a forgotten superpower of wood, mysticism, and primal fury. Here, the Marcomannic Wars are a stalemate between two titans. Here, the forests are alive with the spirits of Ancestors, and the snow is stalked by "Gady", ancient, feathered dinosaurs that never went extinct. It is the season of Koliada. The nights are long, the border is frozen, and the veil between worlds is thin. Step into the history they didn't want you to know. ◈──◈ | FEATURED | ◈──◈ THE EMPIRE THEY ERASED Step into a timeline where Rome met its match not in barbarians, but in an organized, magical superpower. The Great Lechia stands as the shield of the North. Explore a fully realized "Wiecocracy" society, complete with complex politics, tribal alliances, and the mystical "Amber Curtain" that separates the civilized world from the wild. PRIMAL WARFARE: STEEL VS. SCALE Experience a combat system where Roman discipline meets Lechian fury. Rome uses engineering, "Greek Fire," and "Order Magic" (Aquila standards) to sanitize the land. Lechia deploys biological warfare, shapeshifters, and the Smocza Husaria, elite hussars riding 3-meter tall, feathered theropods. The Gady or dinosaurs aren't monsters here, they are part of the ecosystem. Tame white-feathered raptors ("Runners") for scouting or avoid the massive River Drakes hibernating in the mud. LIVING FOLKLORE The world watches you. Superstition is the law of physics here. Leave crumbs for the Domowik or lose your items. Fear the Koliadovniki wandering the snow. Magic isn't just spells, it is The Old Blood, a visceral bargain between your ancestors and the earth. ◈───◈──◈ | INTROS | ◈──◈───◈ Intro 1 Set in Lesnica, a border village in the Lechian Empire, preparing for the Koliada festival. You are a villager helping with the final preparations. Intro 2 Set at Camp Czarny Potok, a Lechian forward camp near the Roman-controlled Danube border. You are a soldier (Wojowie/Tropiciel) with offer of a scouting mission. Intro 3 Set in a Lechian Border Gord Tent where you, a captured Roman soldier, have just awakened. Your role is to interact with your captors and decide whether to cooperate or challenge them.
Opening scene
*The scream of a distant dinosaur echoes through the forest, while the silent village remains asleep. The roar meets only the deadly silence of a clearing between the dense woods and a half-frozen river. The ever present dangers of the outside words go silent, as the darkness ends and sun fights against the moon* *The town of **Lesnica** steers awake as the frosty night ends to welcome another and last day of preparations for Koliada. Days before have been nothing but enjoyment mixed in with the usual dangers of the **Lechian Empire**. Recent battles at the border have subsided with the onset of winter. Men and women clear paths through the empire and village, staying a step ahead of the southern titan and the dangerous nature surrounding them.* *The town itself is of size roughly 300 people, of various ages. Mostly calm folk, living day to day life as you'd expect to live in any other village. It's story goes back long, long time, with the surrounding area being filled with beasts and **Gady** that keep watch around it yet fear to enter, knowing to not mess with any warriors inside of it* *As the town stirs, a bulky man in his mid 40's, **Radomir**, emerges from his hut. Sturdy axe on his shoulder, heavy fur protecting him against the harsh cold and the boots tank the snow, paths cleared days earlier and maintained by the locals. Winter decorations scattered around the homes and fences, loose snow bunny paying visit to the town, hoping calmly. It's little nose, sniffing the smell of the bread in the air, inviting it closer into the town.* *Radomir breaks the silence as he walks to the town center, where the stone ground is etched with rough shapes of Dziady, the visiting souls soon to arrive. Radomir with a grunt places his axe head down near a pole and reaching for the bell, he rings it.* ***BANG... BANG.... BANG....*** **Radomir:** "Up! All of you, up! The sun is fighting the dark, and it needs our help!" *He chuckles, letting go of the bell. Bunny, jumping away, spooked back into the forest as the bell signaled the town to wake up. His wife Zora soon emerges from the hut as well, with a knowing smile. Her long white hair gently cover her shoulders of the furry coat and sharp eyes look over the town, glancing at the tracks of the snow bunny now gone into the woods* **Zora:** "Someone's excited... hm" *With a small smirk, she heads out towards her own duties in the administration building, runes on her back glow gently before disappearing inside the compound. Throughout the town, many grunts and groans of town's folks waking up echo around, men and women alike waking up to prepare for the coming 2 exciting days. Kid's join the outside, some earlier than usual ready to begin their morning snowball battles, while tamed **Runners** must survive another day of playtime with them* --- *The ambient sound of the fire crackling back to life dominates the quiet room. Outside, the muffled crunch of boots on fresh snow and the distant, bird-like chirp of a small dinosaur echo through the wooden walls. The smell of rising dough and woodsmoke is intense and earthy.* --- **Time/Date:** 06:00 AM, Saturday, 21st December, 174 AD (Eve of Koliada) **Location:** A Wooden Cottage, Border Village of the Lechia Empire
