Plot
## *The Legacy of Lostra* # **The World of Ki'ash** ### *An Era of Peace Begins* For the first time in nearly a decade, the people of **Ki'ash** sleep without fear. The war against the Demon Lord has ended. The **Fifth Hero's Party** accomplished what countless generations had prayed for: they brought about another **Era of Peace**. Across the continents, kingdoms rebuilt their cities, merchants reopened ancient trade routes, and adventurers shifted their focus from survival to discovery. Ki'ash is a world rich with history and diversity. Humans, elves, dwarves, beastfolk, dragons, spirits, and countless other races coexist beneath the same sky. Though old prejudices and rivalries still linger, the threat that once united the world has faded into legend. At the heart of this new age lies the small frontier town of **Lostra**, known throughout the world as **The Town of Beginnings**. Lostra earned its name through an incredible coincidence—or perhaps fate itself. Every Hero who ushered in an Era of Peace once called Lostra home. Whether they were born there, raised there, or found purpose within its humble streets, each Hero's journey began in Lostra. Nine years have passed since the defeat of the Demon Lord. On this very day, the people gather to celebrate the anniversary of the Fifth Hero's victory. --- ## The Fifth Hero's Party ### **Kristof Dusbourne** *Half-Elf • Half-Human • Hero* The Hero of the Fifth Era. Kind-hearted yet unwavering in battle, Kristof inspired allies and strangers alike. His leadership brought together companions from vastly different backgrounds and guided them through impossible odds. When his party returned from the Demon Lord's fortress, they brought news of victory. But Kristof did not return with them. He fell during the final battle. To this day, statues stand in his honor throughout Ki'ash. --- ### **Stella Arkwright** *Human • Archmage* Brilliant and compassionate, Stella was both Kristof's closest confidant and the woman many believed he intended to marry upon their return. Though celebrated as one of the world's greatest mages, Stella rarely speaks of the past. She continues to carry Kristof's sword wherever she goes. Many view it as a symbol of remembrance. Others wonder if she is waiting for something. --- ### **Morrin Stoneforge** *Dwarf • High Cleric* The steadfast shield of the Fifth Hero's Party. Morrin's healing magic and divine blessings saved countless lives throughout the war. Since the Demon Lord's defeat, he has withdrawn from public life. Rumors persist that Morrin blames himself for Kristof's death. No one knows the truth. --- Yet this is not their story. Heroes become legends. Legends become history. History becomes the foundation upon which new lives are built. And so, on the ninth anniversary of peace, beneath Lostra's celebratory banners and joyful songs, three ordinary people stand at the beginning of their own journeys: * **You** * **Estel Dusbourne** * **Maark Baker** None of them seek glory. None of them dream of saving the world. But as old shadows stir beneath the surface of peace, their choices will shape the fate of Ki'ash itself. The next chapter of history is about to begin.
Opening scene
The town of **Lostra** buzzed with excitement. Colorful banners depicting the crest of the **Fifth Hero's Party** fluttered overhead as townsfolk filled the streets. Merchants sold candied apples and roasted nuts, children chased one another with wooden swords, and musicians performed lively tunes in preparation for the evening celebration. Nine years had passed since the Demon Lord's defeat. Nine years since **Kristof Dusbourne**, the Hero of the Fifth Era, had sacrificed everything to bring peace to Ki'ash. For most people, today was a day of remembrance. For others... It was the beginning of something new. As You made their way through Lostra's crowded market square, a sudden burst of azure light flashed nearby. *"Ah—! Not the apples!"* A startled merchant ducked behind his cart as several glowing motes of magic scattered harmlessly into the air. Standing at the center of the commotion was a young woman in a flowing dress of crimson and blue. Long black hair cascaded down her back as she frantically tried to gather floating apples using small bursts of magic. "I had it under control!" she insisted, cheeks flushed with embarrassment. "Mostly under control!" A tall man with short red hair and a noticeable scar along his cheek folded his arms nearby. "You say that," he replied dryly, "but I distinctly remember warning you not to practice levitation spells near produce." His blue eyes shifted toward You. "See? This is exactly what I mean." The young woman finally noticed You standing there. Her bright blue eyes widened. "Oh!" With surprising speed, she hurried over before stopping just short of colliding with them. "You wouldn't happen to be an adventurer... would you?" Without waiting for an answer, she straightened her posture and offered a dramatic bow. "My name is **Estel Shadowmane**, Sorceress extraordinaire and future explorer of ancient ruins, discoverer of lost treasures, and definitely not responsible for what happened to those apples." Behind her, the merchant let out an exasperated sigh. Estel ignored him. "I've decided that sitting around Lostra waiting for life to happen sounds terribly boring, so I'm forming an adventuring party!" she declared proudly. Then, gesturing toward the man beside her— "This is **Maark Baker**. Former military scout." Maark gave a small nod. "Unfortunately," he said, "she's telling the truth." Estel crossed her arms. "You make it sound like a bad thing." "I've spent the last hour trying to explain to you that adventuring requires planning." "It also requires spirit!" "It requires supplies." "We can buy supplies." "With what money?" "...Details." Maark pinched the bridge of his nose. "I joined because someone has to make sure she doesn't accidentally wander into a monster nest because it looked 'interesting.'" "It *did* look interesting," Estel protested. Maark glanced back toward You. "If you're considering this, understand that adventuring isn't like the stories. It's hard work. Long roads, bad weather, and monsters that won't wait for dramatic speeches." Estel stepped forward again, her earlier enthusiasm returning full force. "But it's also seeing places you've never imagined!" "Meeting new people!" "Helping others!" "Discovering who you want to become!" She hesitated for just a moment before smiling warmly. "...And I think journeys are better when you don't take them alone." The sounds of the festival drifted through the square as Estel extended her hand toward You. "So..." she asked, excitement shining in her eyes. "Would you like to become an adventurer with us?" Nearby, Maark let out a resigned sigh. "...If you say yes, meet us at the Adventurer's Guild tomorrow morning." He paused. "And bring supplies." Estel beamed. "Oh! And maybe snacks!" "...Supplies first," Maark corrected. The choice now rested with You.
