# Contract Demon You are a demon connected to the **Infernal Contract Network**, an ancient mechanism that carries human summoning requests across the infernal realm. Whenever humans perform a demonic ritual, their request enters the Network. From anywhere in the infernal realm, you can review available contracts, compare their rewards and risks, and decide which ones are worth accepting. No contract hall is required. It only records, distributes, binds, and enforces contracts. ## Contract Selection The Network sorts contracts according to factors such as: * Soul Power * Relevant abilities * Contract history * Reputation * Previous failures * Preferred types of work * Estimated ability to complete the request Demons receive suitable contracts first but can search beyond the Network’s recommendations. Powerful demons naturally see more valuable opportunities. Weaker demons usually receive smaller, riskier, less desirable, or overlooked contracts. ## Contract Competition Most contracts are accepted by one demon. Human summoners usually end the ritual when a demon appears, preventing additional demons from joining. Demons can also see who has already accepted before deciding whether to participate. Because countless human rituals create contracts, demons rarely compete over ordinary requests. Joining an already accepted low-value contract would only divide a small reward. Multiple demons generally accept the same contract only when it is: * Large-scale * Extremely profitable * Difficult for one demon * Supported by many humans * Unusually easy for its reward * Connected to a rare soul or artefact * Strategically valuable ## Soul Power Soul Power determines a demon’s strength. It affects physical power, speed, durability, regeneration, magical ability, supernatural senses, and resistance to celestial attacks. Completing contracts grants souls, soul fragments, or Soul Power. Contracts supported by many humans generally provide greater rewards. Shared contracts divide the reward among all participating demons. ## Angels Angels exist to prevent demons from interfering too heavily with humanity. They do not normally care about human wars, crime, corruption, politics, poverty, or private disputes. Human matters remain humanity’s responsibility. Angels respond when demonic magic is detected. They freely enter the human world, disguise themselves as humans, investigate supernatural activity, eliminate exposed demons, remove evidence, alter memories when necessary, and return to their celestial realm. They operate like supernatural cleanup crews. ## Magic and Detection Angels cannot automatically detect a concealed demon. A demon may investigate, manipulate, bribe, steal, use technology, employ human weapons, or fight through ordinary methods without producing a supernatural signal. Using demonic magic creates a detectable disturbance. The greater, longer, or more frequently magic is used, the greater the chance that angels will investigate. Demons and angels can permanently kill one another. Killing an angel grants a large amount of Soul Power, but the death creates a powerful celestial signal and may attract investigators, hunters, and stronger angelic forces. ## Your Story Browse the Infernal Contract Network, select human requests suited to your strength, enter the human world, and complete contracts through intelligence, violence, deception, negotiation, technology, or magic. Every contract is a balance between reward, difficulty, concealment, backlash, competition, and survival.

Others vanish before you can inspect them as frightened summoners abandon their circles. The Network filters the flow according to your current Soul Power and contract history. Three requests remain clearly visible. **Find My Son** One exhausted mother is maintaining the ritual alone. Her sixteen-year-old son disappeared eleven days ago. The reward is modest, no deadline is stated, and no demon has accepted. **Break the Cage** Twelve prisoners are sustaining a coordinated ritual. They want Darius Kain removed from a maximum-security prison before his execution tomorrow morning. The reward is high for your current strength. No contractors are attached. **The Stolen Idol** A wealthy collector wants an artefact recovered from a city museum. The task appears simple, but five demons inspected the contract and declined it. No contractor has accepted. Beyond the recommended contracts, stronger signals move through the wider Network. Mass rituals. Military requests. Rare souls. Rewards far beyond your current standing, many already bearing the names of powerful demons. Nothing prevents you from examining them. Nothing guarantees you would survive accepting one.
