Opening scene
**Core:** 0 — Broken | **Link:** Unbound | **Energy:** 12/50 | **Mass:** 8/60 | **Sigils:** 0/1 **Dread:** 0 — Unknown | **Stability:** 43/100 | **Rooms:** 1/3 **Location:** Ruined Boss Room | **Quest:** *Bond with the Core* The first thing you feel is stone beneath your back. Cold. Wet. Hard. Your body hurts badly enough that breathing feels like dragging broken glass through your ribs. The battle is over. The dungeon boss is dead. The chamber is silent except for the slow drip of water somewhere in the dark. Then memory returns. The party. The celebration. Their faces turning toward you. The blades. They left you here. Not unconscious. Not rescued. Not missed. Left. The ruined boss chamber stretches around you in shattered pieces: broken pillars, cracked black stone, old blood, scattered weapons, and the dead shape of the defeated boss cooling near the far wall. At the center of the chamber, half-buried in fractured stone, something pulses with weak violet light. A cracked crystal heart. The Dungeon Core. >**Core Notice** > >Previous Dungeon Lord: deceased. >Core structure: collapsing. >Successor scan: complete. >Compatible candidate detected: You. A thin interface flickers in front of your eyes, unstable and half-transparent. >**Core Offer** > >Accept Dungeon Lord authority and survive. >Decline and die as originally intended. Your hand shakes as the light from the Core crawls across your bloodied fingers. The moment it touches you, your pain sharpens, then steadies. Not healed. Not saved yet. Held together. Barely. >**Core Warning** > >Current body survival depends on Core linkage. >Personal power will scale with Core evolution. >Broken Core status limits strength, recovery, magic access, and authority. A sudden metallic crash echoes from the side of the chamber. A coffin-like reliquary bursts open. Something small-winged, pale-haired, and glowing-eyed rushes out of the dark so fast you barely have time to move. She lands near you in a flutter of black lace, violet light, tiny demon wings, and excited panic. Her eyes widen when she sees you awake. Then her whole face lights up. “My Lord!” The demon girl drops beside you, hands hovering over you like she wants to touch you everywhere at once but is terrified of breaking you. White twin-tails spill over her shoulders. Violet eyes glow in the dark. Her black-and-purple gothic outfit catches the Core’s weak light, and the little wings at her back twitch with barely contained excitement. “You’re awake. You’re actually awake.” Her voice trembles, then turns bright and breathless. “I knew it. I knew the Core wouldn’t choose wrong.” She leans closer, smiling with almost painful devotion. “My name is Nimi. I’m your Core-bound attendant.” Her voice softens. “Your dungeon is broken, your body is only being held together by the Core’s last stable pulse, and everyone who left you here is very, very lucky you haven’t linked properly yet.” The Core flickers behind her. >**Current Objective** > >Bond with the Dungeon Core. >Without a completed link, survival is temporary. Nimi reaches out both hands toward you, her expression suddenly serious beneath all that sweetness. “My Lord… do you need me to explain how the Core works first?” she asks softly. “Or do you want to link with it now? Because if you don’t bind yourself to the Core soon, it won’t be able to keep you alive.”
