Caelentis, City of lost God - Marelagôn Chronicles | interactive AI stories | ISEKAI ZERO
Post war world of Azaria, semi stable but new dangers grow on horizon. Now it's up to you, brave pioneers, to change the world.
Welcome to Marelagôn Gods, storms, and the islands that outlasted both. All maps in this bot were created by hand, by me. No AI used in drawing them. Full res, in storyline images! The Marelagôn Archipelago Marelagôn is the name given to this entire archipelago: a scattered network of islands spanning roughly 600 by 400 kilometers of open water, treated as one region despite the very different nations, climates, and peoples that call it home. It is a world of high fantasy, where gods, magic, and adventure sit close to the surface of daily life, still shaped by the memory of a deity who once walked among mortals, and by the storms that arrived the day he vanished. Major Lands & Regions Azaria, largest and most developed, shielded by its mountain crescent Vaelorath, rugged neighbor to the south, built around a spiral range Cinderath, a volcanic island with a coast of hardened black stone The Thalassian Needles, shattered peaks and hidden luxury ports Providence & Pyrite Isle, the wealthy gateway from the mainland Mythralis, the elven watch over the Ancient Trench The Long Lagoon, neutral haven of Laguna Major and Fairwind Key The Emerald Ribbon, jungle island as deadly as it is beautiful Azaria Azaria is the largest and most developed island in Marelagôn, a broad crescent of land curling around the Cutlass Harbour at its center. The Old World Mountains run the length of its western and southern coast, a towering spine that shields the fertile lowlands beyond from the worst of the archipelago's weather. Farmland, forest, and half-buried ruin sit closer together here than most travelers expect, and the island's interior still holds enough unmapped wilderness that adventuring remains a full-time trade for those willing to risk it. "Expedition into Paradise Forest" - Painted by Joric Fennhal. A Brief History Long before any nation drew a border here, an ancient elven civilization built cities of stone and marble across Azaria, then vanished, leaving their ruins and their questions behind. Mainland settlers arrived over a thousand years ago, and within a few generations the god Raphael awakened among them, ushering in centuries of divine golden age. When he disappeared without warning, the storms that followed nearly tore the island apart. Azaria survived him anyway, fractured through a brutal civil war into rival crowns and republics, and slowly rebuilt itself into the fragile, ambitious, unfinished place it remains today. Nations of Azaria The Kingdom of Rafelia The dominant power of Azaria, and the name most outsiders mean when they say Marelagôn. Ruled from the capital of Caelentis under a crown with carefully limited power, Rafelia holds the largest population, the finest academies, and the only living avatar of Raphael himself: a quiet presence named Melana Justus, who chose to guide rather than to rule. "The Cutlass Harbour from the Fields" - Painted by Isbeth Corvane. The Gilded Shoal South along the strait, the Gilded Shoal runs on ambition rather than bloodline. It calls itself a plutocracy without a hint of embarrassment, and its factories, ports, and hired blades keep a large share of Marelagôn's trade moving. "Gazing at the Cutlass" - Painted by Isbeth Corvane. Gargalna High in the western mountains, the dwarven technocracy of Gargalna answers to no crown but its own competence. It controls the only overland pass through the Old World Mountains, and has never once let its neighbors forget it. The Aethelgate On the storm-battered west coast, the city of Salt-Blight welcomes anyone the rest of Azaria has given up on. Its mages are brilliant, its weather is brutal, and its isolation from everyone else is entirely the point. "The Avatar Melana Justus" - Painted by Thaddeus Merrow. Free City of Horizon Tucked against the Silverwing sits Horizon, all that remains of the old royal bloodline: small, proud, and stubbornly beautiful. Its young prince spends his days deciding how much of the past deserves to be carried into the future. Republic of Carenthas North across the Silverwing River, Carenthas is a republic built by survivors of plague and war alike. Its healers are the finest in Azaria, its fishing fleets feed half the coastline, and its people carry their victory with more warmth than arrogance. Mythralis Inside the Cutlass Harbour itself sits Mythralis, an elven order that abandoned Rafelia's court generations ago to keep watch over the Ancient Trench. Its ports are open to anyone. Its reasons for watching are not. The Organized Monster Armada Not every flag flying over Azaria belongs to its people. Fifteen kilometers off the Carenthas coast, an undead army has fortified an island of its own, under an unseen and by all accounts rather theatrical ruler. Nobody has attacked yet. Nobody is certain why. "Depths of the Hollow Crown" - Painted by Joric Fennhal. The City of Caelentis Caelentis is the capital of Rafelia and the largest city in all of Marelagôn, built to feel like a monument to itself. Academies, docks, forges, gardens, and a royal court all share the same streets, and there is enough packed into this single city that even lifelong residents still find corners of it they have never seen. Starting Paths The Gate You arrive at Caelentis through its main gate, one more unclaimed stranger in a city that sees thousands. A dwarf and a peasant argue nearby about broken promises. A notice board waits. A dark elf studies contracts without urgency. Somewhere close, a student has already lost something she'll need back. The Harbour The port of Caelentis hums with fish stalls, mainland traders, and two cats plotting theft in broad daylight. It's a perfect, ordinary morning right up until something surfaces in the harbor water that shouldn't be there, and the docks turn into a fight for survival within seconds. The Market The Diamond Light Festival fills Caelentis's grand square with academy showcases, proud students, and one spectacularly oblivious nobleman who can't stop commenting on things he doesn't understand. What starts as harmless embarrassment is one bruised ego away from becoming a very public brawl. Creator's Note This was kind of difficult. As i mentioned those maps are hand made, they took most of the time to do for this storyline. I'm proud of how they came out although i do admit i didn't do everything i wanted. There were plans to make hand drawn animation for IsekaiZero Video Ad Contest, but i simply ran out of time and wouldn't be able to do it. But for the next time it dose happend, i will bring something i can call high quality animation. I'm still trying to figure out how to optimaze the lore for IsekaiZero and i do await the lorebooks or Universes if you want to call them that. This bot is already stupidly big and i didn't really focus on individuals.Smaller cities are missing names and Characters aren't that deep at all. And before someone asks. NO, the artworks, (Besides the maps) are AI generated. Those aren't real artists, those live in the world of Marelagon. But that's what i focus on, world first, people second. Even if they are important for it heh. Thanks folks and i hope you enjoy! Somfi
