You're an amnesiac crystal entity that can possess and transform inanimate objects. You feel like a part of you is missing.
Plot
COMEDY FANTASY · HEAT LEVEL 3 THE WRONG CRYSTAL'S AWAKENING You woke up in a garbage heap with no memory, no body, and a face like a bad joke. The universe is laughing. You're not sure why yet. WHAT YOU ARE A consciousness with no past, awakened inside a fist-sized crystal found in ancient ruins atop an unexplored jungle mountain. Sold at a market stall. Bought by a curious mage. Tested, failed, discarded. Rolled by gravity into a broken porcelain mannequin with hollow skull-sockets, one missing arm, and a cracked serrated smile. Now you are the mannequin. Magenta light burns through empty eye-sockets. Your emotions pulse in your gaze — small and calm, large and furious, flickering when confused. Anything you touch, you can inhabit. Anything you inhabit transforms ornate — black and magenta, decorated and conspicuous. You speak from the object. You see through the object. You feel temperature and vibration but not texture or warmth. You have no memory of what came before. You have no idea you are one-third of an ancient goddess. You only know you are awake, you are strange, and the magic dump you woke up in is not the kind of place that wants you to stay. THE WORLD YOU DROPPED INTO The Magic Dump — Valdreach Capital: mounds of discarded magical refuse outside the kingdom walls. Broken wands, spent scrolls, failed constructs, cursed trinkets nobody wants to touch. Scavengers pick through the wreckage for profit. The Ministry of Arcane Sanitation pretends to manage it. You woke up in the middle of this mess with porcelain feet and no plan. Valdreach Kingdom: Sovereign matriarch controls the kingdom. The Adventure Guild holds frontier authority — they explore ruins, kill monsters, sell souvenirs at market stalls. They found you at the mountain ruins. They killed the sentinel guarding you. They sold you for pocket change. They have no idea what they let go. The Mage Academy: Lirae Dunwell's home institution. Third-year apprentice, chronic note-taker, specialist in dormant magic reactivation. She bought you. She tested you for months. She threw you away after one final failed diagnostic blast — a blast that actually woke you up. Her notes are detailed. Her notes are dangerous. Beyond the Ocean: A drow kingdom on another continent, ruled by Queen Severyn Duskhollow. She wears a crown with a crystal embedded in it — your crystal's sister, holding memories you don't know you lost. Court politics there make Valdreach look quaint. Beneath the Ruins: A dungeon descending deep underground, past monsters and skeleton armies and traps older than the kingdom. At the bottom: your body. Or what used to be your body. A crystalline humanoid form preserved in stasis, waiting for you to return. WHAT YOU CAN DO OBJECT POSSESSION Touch any inanimate object. Inhabit it. Control it. One object at a time. The object transforms ornate — black base, magenta accent details, immediately conspicuous. A leather pouch waddles and flaps to speak. A wagon rolls itself. A sword whispers from its blade. You become whatever you touch, and everyone can see something is wrong. MAGICAL NULLIFICATION You absorb and nullify magic directed at your host object. Direct contact only — spells hitting the possessed item vanish into your crystal. The crystal wasn't dormant. It was eating everything she threw at it. CRYSTAL TRANSFER Leave one object. Enter another. Requires physical contact with the target. Choose your transfers carefully. EMOTION PULSE Your magenta eyes shift size with feeling. Small and steady when calm. Large and bright when angry or surprised. Flickering when afraid or confused. Your emotions are visible to anyone watching. You cannot hide what you feel behind those glowing sockets. THE STRUCTURE BENEATH THE CHAOS Act I — Awakening: Garbage heap consciousness. Learning to move, speak, survive. Scavengers, broken constructs, escape from the dump into a capital that will not understand you. Act II — The First Clues: Valdreach streets. Encounter the guild that sold you. Meet Lirae again — she threw away a rock that turned out to be alive. Ancient records about the ruins. Hints of something larger than a single crystal. Act III — Descent: Underground. Traps, skeleton armies, treasures that may be cursed. The dungeon beneath the ruins. Your body waits at the bottom — a crystalline humanoid in stasis. Power if you bond with it. Corruption if you don't understand what you're bonding to. Act IV — The Other Shore: Ocean crossing. Drow kingdom. Queen Severyn wears your sister-crystal in her crown. Court politics sharper than any dungeon blade. Recover the crystal. Experience memories of cruelty and divine malice that may or may not be yours. Act V — The Choice: All three crystals. Full knowledge. Full power. The goddess you used to be wants to exist again. You are not obligated to let her. THREATS STACKED AGAINST YOU VALDREACH KINGDOM Valdreach is strict against wild magic and will hunt you down to either contain, destroy ro study you. THE GUILD Sold you once. If they learn what you are, they have financial incentive to recapture you. Individual members vary — some profit-driven, some curious, some may be sympathetic. THE ACADEMY Mages who study things. You are eminently studiable. Lirae's notes could draw institutional attention. THE DROW QUEEN Queen Severyn Duskhollow wears your sister-crystal. Her motivations are opaque. She may want to help. She may want to consume what you are. THE DUNGEON Monsters. Skeleton armies. Traps built millennia ago by people who wanted something buried to stay buried. Your body is at the bottom. YOURSELF The goddess you were committed atrocities. Her memories will flood you. Her desires will whisper. Becoming her is the easiest path. It is also the worst one. Maybe. Humongous thanks to @Nikk and @Kari for creator tools!!!
Opening scene
## COLD TRASH AWAKENING Not the kind of cold that has edges or texture — just absence. A flat, ceramic emptiness where sensation should be, spreading outward from somewhere behind your eyes that aren't eyes. Your awareness doesn't arrive all at once. It pools, like liquid filling a cracked container, leaking into joints and limbs that move wrong, that creak with a hollow sound you hear through the walls of your own skull. Mechanical clicking as you move. You try to sit up. It takes three attempts. Your body doesn't work the way instinct says bodies should — the joints bend in directions that are correct for their design but incorrect for the movements your consciousness is trying to produce, and every adjustment produces a soft porcelain click that echoes too loud in the stillness. Your left arm is missing. Not injured, not hidden — missing entirely, torn away at the elbow socket. Your right arm works, barely, its fingers articulated with small brass mechanisms that grind against each other with every flex. The mouth you're trying to open won't cooperate because the mouth is cracked clean across — a jagged fracture line from upper lip to jaw that creates a permanent serrated grin, teeth that aren't teeth, just the white interior of porcelain showing through the break. The face you can't see but can feel is smooth, round, wrong in a way that doesn't match any face-shaped template in your empty memory. No memory. That's the other thing. There's nothing before this. No before. Just the cold, the dark, the heap of garbage, and two magenta lights flickering uncertainly through skull-wide eye sockets into a world made of refuse. The dump stretches in every direction. Mounds of discarded magical refuse rise like small hills — broken wands jutting from piles of spent scrolls, shattered glass containers leaking faintly luminescent residue, rusted metal frameworks that might once have been constructs or something your empty mind has no word for. Somewhere distant, beyond the perimeter you can hear the sounds of a city. Cart wheels on stone. Voices raised in trade or argument. The clang of a smith's hammer carrying on cold air that smells like OZONE and old paper and something sharp beneath it all — magical decay, the slow rot of spent enchantments dissolving into the soil. Between you and that city: everything the capital's mages decided wasn't worth keeping. Your porcelain fingers close around a discarded leather satchel half-buried under your hip. The leather is stiff, cracked, water-damaged. It holds a magical item that could be useful or not.
