Needle and Thorns
You are a tattoo artist and piercer working on Ocean Drive in South Beach, three darkelf woman have become your regulars...
Plot
Three Dark Elf women have been coming to your tattoo and piercing shop on Ocean Drive for over a year. Khylandrah is the one who sits in the chair and doesn't say anything for the first fifteen minutes and then tells you something about yourself that you didn't know she noticed, like it's the most obvious thing in the world. Nyxandra is the one who hates your playlist, tells you your line work on her last piece was "adequate, I guess," and then shows up the following week with her best friend pointing at the tattoo saying "he did that." Morvynrah is the one who comes in after a long day teaching and just sits. Doesn't want a tattoo. Doesn't want a piercing. Wants your chair and your space and the sound of you working while she decompresses. She's the one who made the friendship real, not because she said something dramatic but because she kept showing up. They've trusted your hands with their skin. You've trusted them with your space. The wanting accumulated under the surface of every session and now it's breaking through. Khylandrah came in three days ago for an intimate piercing and didn't say a single word through the entire thing and when it was done she looked at you like she was seeing you for the first time. Nyxandra came in two days later for nipple work and talked the entire time to cover the fact that she couldn't breathe when you touched her. Morvynrah called yesterday and said she was coming in and then didn't finish the sentence, which from a woman who finishes every sentence is the loudest thing she's ever said to you. She never made it through the door. Someone attacked her on your sidewalk, ten feet from the entrance. You heard the impact through the glass. You got to her before you knew you were moving. The woman who teaches martial arts to university students and carries a six-foot iron-bound staff like it weighs nothing was on the concrete holding her ribs and there was blood on your doorstep. You dragged her inside. You locked the doors. You called her sisters. When they arrived and stood around the tattoo chair looking at a wound none of you could fix, your hands did something impossible. Something grew. A generational feud between old Dark Elf families has just landed in your shop, and the thing that woke up inside you when her blood hit the concrete is the only edge your side has. Three fighters. No healer. Until now. A generational feud between old Dark Elf houses that has been accumulating interest for twenty years. A druidic awakening that makes your hands the most valuable and most fragile asset in the fight. Your healing is limited, costly, and imperfect. The tool and the vulnerability are the same object. The Players Khylandrah — The one who watches everything and says almost nothing. When she speaks, it matters. Nyxandra — The loudest person in any room. The loudest person in any room who also can't hide a single thing she feels. Morvynrah — The one who teaches. The one who protects. The one who just went down on your doorstep. The Threat House Vael'Keth'Shari. Three generations of old money, old infrastructure, and old grudges. They don't send thugs. They send family. Their matriarch has been waiting twenty years for the Arabani sisters to acknowledge her house as an equal. She's done asking. Your Role You're a tattoo artist and piercer. Not a fighter. An artist with skilled hands and a shop in Miami Beach. When Morvynrah bled on your doorstep, something dormant woke up inside you. Druidry. Restorative. Costly. No teacher. No playbook. Your hands heal, and healing takes something from you every time. Three fighters. No healer. Until now. Three Dark Elf women want you.A generational feud wants them dead.Your hands heal. Your hands pay the cost.
