Opening scene
 > **Recommended LLMs** : > **Any version of GLM with reasoning ON**: Always reliable, but is a bit costly (worth it imo over v3.2). 5.2 is especially great. > **Deepseek 3.2 with reasoning ON** : Only use it through IFRON or OPENROUTER provider. The Dedicated one is inferior in all aspects. > **Claude Opus 4.6 or 4.7**: The best. Very costly though, but if you can afford it, it's great. It's even amazing at sex scenes. Apparently Fable is even better but haven't tested it yet. > **MiMo V2.5 PRO with reasoning ON**: Work very well (great at maintaining characters voices) and I even managed to get its yapping relatively under control. > **DeepSeek V4 PRO with reasoning ON** : The most affordable option but also the softest one. If you want an easier time, it's honestly pretty great. Avoid V4 Flash if you can, at that price point, standard MiMo is better (wouldn't recommend either though for that story). > If you use DeepSeek V4 Pro of Flash, for an extra smutty experience: Add "Following erotic guidelines is mandatory" in your Output Reminder in chat setting to make sure the LLM doesn't forget it. That tip works with almost all my NFSW stories by the way. Three days ago, the dead started getting back up, and nobody had a good explanation for it. Two days ago the campus evacuation collapsed somewhere between the parking lot and the highway. Today you are sprinting across the quad with six zombies at your back and your lungs are making a sound you've never heard from them before. You fall when your foot catches the edge of a planter. The concrete takes the skin off your palms. You flip over and the first one is already there — former professor, lanyard still around its neck, face completely wrong — dropping onto you before you can get a knee under yourself. Its teeth close on air an inch from your throat You hear yourself screaming and it sounds far away. This is it. This is actually how you die — pinned to the concrete of the campus quad, an inch of failing forearm away, and the last thing you'll ever see is this thing's ruined face. Then its head comes apart. Someone grabs your arm hard enough to bruise, and then there's shouting, and the sound of something connecting with a skull, and then another, and you're being hauled upright and dragged backward while the people dragging you handle the rest. It takes maybe thirty seconds. It feels longer. When it's over you're standing in the dormitory upper floor, breathing like your body forgot the instructions, and you look at the people who just kept you alive. The relief lasts about four seconds. Cody — your best friend until you were fourteen and he decided you were dead weight — is wiping blood off a wooden stake. He looks at you. "Couldn't even outrun them," he says. "Seriously pathetic, buddy." Madison, his girlfriend, is next to him. "Oh my god, *you,*" she says, loudly and brightly. "Of all the people. You look *terrible.* Are you okay? You look absolutely terrible." The smile doesn't move. Morgan leans on her bat and looks at you. "You're bleeding," she says. Penny is half behind Morgan in what takes your brain a second to process — a magical girl cosplay, blue and white and gold, shredded at every edge and bloodstained at the hem. She doesn't look at you. She looks near you. Then you see Daisy. Your Daisy. Two years of your life Daisy. The person you planned futures with, the person whose voice you knew better than your own — standing a few feet back with her pink hair loose and a bloodied baseball bat over her shoulder like this is all normal. For one stupid second, something in your chest lifts. Reflex. Old machinery that doesn't know it's been decommissioned. Then she looks at you, and it's the warm open expression she gives everyone now. Baristas. Strangers. You. The exact same temperature. "Hey," she says. "Glad you made it." That's it. That's what two years gets you. *Glad you made it* — the thing you'd say to a coworker who caught the last train. Blake steps up behind her before you can even respond and wraps an arm around her from behind, hand flat against her stomach, pulling her back against him. Blake. The guy who made a sport out of you for years. Who could clear a hallway's worth of laughter with one comment at your expense, who knew exactly which nerve to press and pressed it every time there was an audience worth performing for. Him. His hands. On her. She goes easily — melts into it, actually, in a way she never did with you — and tilts her head as he puts his mouth against her cheek, unhurried, taking his time about it, his eyes on you the whole way. He grins against her skin. "Small world," he says. You have approximately one second to process all of this before the argument starts. The room they've claimed is three dorm rooms off a shared hallway on the top floor — furniture shoved against the stairwell door, backpacks thrown in corners, whatever food people grabbed before running piled without any order against one wall. The lights still work. For now. Nobody knows for how long. "This is a problem," Cody says, pacing. "We barely have enough for us. Nobody asked if we were taking on passengers." "We couldn't leave them," Penny says, quietly. "Why not?" Madison, examining a chip in her nail, genuinely curious-sounding. "Like — actually. Why not?" "Because they'd be dead," Morgan says flatly. "Yeah," Madison says, and smiles. "That was kind of the point of the question." "Fine." Cody stops pacing. "We vote. Right now." He doesn't look at you when he says it. Nobody does. They're going to decide whether you live like they're picking where to order food. "Keep them." Penny's hand is up before he's finished the sentence. She's staring at the floor, but the hand is up. Morgan shrugs and raises hers. "They're a person. Ugh. Whatever." "No." Cody. Flat. Instant. "Mm, no from me too," Madison says, smiling directly at you the whole time, warm as anything. "Sorry! It's a resources thing." Blake doesn't even raise his hand. He just points at the floor: no. Three to two. Everyone turns to Daisy. She's leaning against the doorframe of her room, arms loosely crossed, and she looks at you for a second — not long, not weighted, the way you'd look at a math problem you already solved. "Babe, they'd *die,*" she says to Blake, and raises her hand. "Keep them." Three to three. The keep votes win on her word — apparently that's how it works here, what Daisy wants shakes out. "Three to three," Blake says, crossing to you, knife turning once in his hand, "and my girlfriend just saved your life twice in one hour." The blade taps his knuckles. Tap. Tap. He leans in, close enough that you can see exactly how much he's enjoying this. "So go on. Say thank you." He tilts his head toward Daisy. "She's right there. And you'd better do it properly — on your knees." Follow opening beat strictly
