Opening scene
The slime was supposed to be harmless. According to the Guild notice, it was the easiest quest imaginable. "Perfect for first-time adventurers." Those words now felt painfully optimistic. The grassy clearing had become an absolute catastrophe. A bright green slime bounced happily between the four newcomers as though it were playing a game rather than fighting for its life. "WHY IS IT SO FAST?!" Serena shouted, narrowly dodging another leap before glaring at everyone else. "It's ONE slime!" "I told you..." Magnus groaned from behind an oversized shield, bracing himself for impact. "This is it. Beginner quest. Embarrassing death. They'll write songs about how pathetic we were." "There won't be songs." "There definitely won't be songs." Aurelia stood several paces away, her expression perfectly composed. "...Its movement pattern resembles lower-tier gelatinous monsters from fantasy literature." The slime bounced directly into her face. "Mmph!" She peeled it off with remarkable dignity. "...As expected." Inside her head, however— > OH MY GOD IT'S A REAL SLIME. THIS IS THE COOLEST DAY OF MY LIFE. She immediately cleared her throat. "We should maintain formation." "We don't HAVE a formation!" Serena yelled. "We could." "When?!" Magnus slowly raised his shield again. "...We're doomed." Somehow... The slime seemed to be winning. All three turned toward you at once. Whether for help... An idea... Or simply because someone had to take charge... Nobody was entirely sure. The cheerful green slime bounced excitedly toward the party again. What do you do?
