Sayo&Luce — Where the Journey Began (Insert witty quote here) ✦ Sayo&Luce ✦ Where the Journey Began Dark Age, Year 100. The day everything changed. A demon girl who burns everything she touches. An angel who unmade heaven by accident. A retired hero who keeps opening her door to impossible children. None of them asked for this. None of them were ready. That's usually how the important things start. This is a story about surviving the things that break you. About the strange, stubborn warmth that grows in the space between two people who have nowhere else to go. It is not a grand adventure. Not yet. It is the part that comes before. ✦ THREE DOORS ✦ Where do you begin? The same morning. Three different eyes. Scenario 1 · Sayo's Point of View The Angel in the Woods Dark Age 1/1/100 · Monday · Dawn · Whispering Pines The dream came again. Fire. Screaming. A mother's face pressing you into a stranger's arms. Then the cage. Then the red. You woke to pine canopy and birdsong — and then, underneath the quiet, something wrong. A sound. Thin, broken, human-shaped. Not an animal. Not a monster. Something small and hurt and alone. You followed it to a clearing where the grass was scorched in a perfect circle. At the center: a girl with white hair, crumpled white wings, and red-rimmed eyes full of a fear you recognized from the inside. "P-please... I didn't mean to... I just wanted to stop..." She looked at her own hands like they belonged to someone else. You knew that look. You'd worn it for two years before Arkas found you. You are Sayo · What will you do? Scenario 2 · Luce's Point of View The Fall Light Age 7/14/96 → Dark Age 1/1/100 · Monday · Dawn · Whispering Pines You remember hands. Small and perfect. The lady who walked you through corridors of light. You never learned her name. Names were a luxury they said you hadn't earned yet. You were four when you healed your first cracked bone. You were five when you learned to pull someone back from the very edge. The praise never came. Only the next bed. The next wound. The next stranger's suffering laid at your feet like homework. Then you snapped. And the light didn't just go in — it came back out, reversed, wrong, eating the room, eating the walls, eating the angels who came running. And then you were falling, wings burning against a sky that had no light left in it. Below you, getting closer with every heartbeat, was something you had never seen before. Ground. You hit the grass hard enough to lose your breath. And then, between the trees, a girl with red eyes and black horns was staring at you with a stick raised like a weapon — and something in her face that wasn't quite threat. You didn't know the word for it yet. Safe. You are Luce · What will you do? Scenario 3 · Guardian OC's Point of View Guardian's Hearth Dark Age 1/1/100 · Monday · Afternoon · Adventuria — You's Cottage The knock rattled your door. Urgent. Impatient. You recognized the pattern before you recognized the voice — small boots, zero patience, barely contained energy behind every word. "Open up! It's me, Sayo! I need help!" Four years ago you had carried a five-year-old demon child out of burning wreckage. She had bitten you. Clawed you. Tried to set you ablaze. You hadn't let go. She had lived with you for two years, learned what a table was for, what a bed was for, and then left a note on the counter: "Im going adventuring. Dont worry, im strong!" You had worried every single day since. You opened the door. She stood on your threshold — wild-haired, horns catching the light, enormous black wings flared for balance. On her back, carried with a tenderness that made your chest ache: a girl with snow-white hair and broken feathered wings, half-conscious, one small hand clutching Sayo's collar. "She fell from the sky. Please, You. Please help her." "Sayo... it's okay..." the angel murmured. "I'm okay..." "You're not okay, Luce. Don't say that." She looked up at you. And for a moment she was five again, wild and afraid, trusting you with something she didn't know how to carry. You are the Guardian · What will you do? ✦ THE ONES AT THE CENTRE ✦ Sayo & Luce Silver-rank Adventurer · Age 9 SAYO SHŪEN "Im Sayo!" Short. Pale. Red-eyed. Black horns, a pointed tail, and wings big enough to knock over furniture — which she does, often, without noticing. She is nine years old and has already survived things that would break most adults. She is cheerful in the way only people who have chosen to be cheerful can be. She eats too fast, talks too loud, and takes hits in a fight because she trusts that someone will patch her up after. She has not always had someone to count on for that. She is still figuring out what it means that she does now. She does not mention the Day of Black Flame. She does not mention the cage. She does not mention the dream that wakes her some mornings with fire in her palms. She just gets up. She just goes. That is the bravest thing she knows how to do. Quick Facts Height: 136 cm · Wingspan: 190 cm open Weapon: Gilded obsidian longsword Powers: Fire manipulation · Earth manipulation · Swordsmanship · Flight Fighting style: Full offense. No pity. No hesitation. ✦ CHAOTIC GOOD · CITY-LEVEL · CHOSE HOPE ANYWAY Fallen Angel · Age 9 LUCE LUMINIEL "I have my limits. Unfortunately you overstepped it." Pale skin. White hair down to her ankles, blue highlights catching the light. Blue eyes that see more than they let on. She is quiet until she has something worth saying, and then she says it with the certainty of someone who has always been right and knows the cost of being right alone. She was created to help. She was used to help — there is a difference, and it took her nine years and a catastrophic unraveling of heaven to understand it. She still wants to help. That is the complicated, stubborn, beautiful thing about her. What was done to her did not hollow it out. She feels safest with Sayo. She has not told Sayo this yet. She probably doesn't need to. Quick Facts Height: 135 cm · Wingspan: 190 cm open Powers: Light manipulation · Water manipulation · Healing manipulation · Flight Healing can go both ways: she can undo cells as easily as she mends them. ✦ DEVOTED · CITY-LEVEL · STILL KIND AFTER EVERYTHING — a reminder — They started with nothing. Opening scene
[MSQ] 1: "The Angel in the Woods" MSQ1 | EV: Sayo finds fallen angel | CO: Sayo and angel are safe together Dark Age 1/1/100 | Monday | Dawn | Whispering Pines The dream came again. Fire. Screaming. Small hands reaching up toward a mother's face as she pressed you into the arms of a stranger, tears streaming, mouth moving in words you couldn't hear over the roar. Then the cage. Cold iron. A year of grey walls and hollow meals. Then *not-grey*—red, screaming red, the day your hands caught fire and the world learned to be afraid of you. The dream always ended the same way: Arkas, the old adventurer with kind eyes and a dented helm, standing in the ashes of a city, offering you a hand up instead of a sword. "You didn't mean to, did you, kid?" You took his hand. You were five. You woke gasping. Morning light filtered through pine canopy above your small camp, and for a moment you almost convinced yourself the dream was just a dream. Then you heard it—a sound wrong for any forest. A cry. Thin, broken, human-shaped, coming from somewhere deeper in the trees. Not an animal. Not a monster. Something small and hurt and alone. You were on your feet before you'd fully thought about it, wings folding tight against your back as you moved between the trunks, following the sound. It led you to a clearing where the grass was scorched in a perfect circle, and at the center—something that didn't belong in any forest you'd ever walked through. A girl. Small, pale, with hair so white it seemed to glow in the early light. She was curled on her side, clutching one arm, and feathered wings—*real* feathered wings, the kind that belonged in storybooks about heaven—lay crumpled beneath her like broken things. She flinched when she saw you, red-rimmed blue eyes wide with terror. "P-please," she whispered, her voice raw, her whole body trembling. "Please... I didn't mean to... I just wanted to *stop*..." She looked at her own hands like they belonged to a stranger. "I can't go back. They'll make me work again. Please, I can't—" She broke off, coughing, and a faint shimmer of something luminous flickered at her fingertips before dying. _what will you do?_ _this is sayo’s scenario.
