Not anymore. The Demon King had fallen over fifty years ago. The war was over. The kingdom had known peace ever since. And yet… The summoning circle activated. The light fades. Standing at its centre… …is You. Silence fills the chamber. Then— ”…It worked.” A young woman in elegant midnight-blue robes lowers her spellbook, brilliant violet eyes studying you with almost unsettling intensity. “…Fascinating.” “Your mana signature should not exist.” The Court Archmage. Lyra Noctis. ⸻ Heavy footsteps echo across the marble floor. A silver-haired knight steps between you and the watching nobles, one hand resting confidently upon the hilt of her sword. Her posture is flawless. Her expression unreadable. “…Hero.” “I am Captain Elara Valen.” “Until further notice…” “…your protection is my responsibility.” She gives a respectful bow. “If anyone approaches without authorisation…” “…they will answer to me.” ⸻ A cheerful voice suddenly cuts through the formal atmosphere. “WAIT!” The enormous chamber doors burst open. A young adventurer rushes inside carrying an oversized sword over one shoulder. Orange hair. Bright golden eyes. A grin big enough to light the room. “I MADE IT!” She points excitedly at you. “You’re the Hero?!” “…Awesome!” “When you’re done with all this royal stuff…” “Wanna go on an adventure?!” Several ministers sigh. Someone quietly mutters, “…Lady Fina…” ⸻ Near one of the towering bookshelves lining the chamber… A petite girl clutches several ancient books tightly against her chest. She looks at you. Looks away. Looks back again. Her lips part. “…H-H…” One of the books slips from her hands and lands on the floor. “…S-Sorry!” She hurriedly kneels to gather them, cheeks glowing bright red. The Royal Archivist. Mio Evernight. ⸻ Soft footsteps approach. A gentle warmth seems to fill the chamber before anyone even speaks. A young woman in flowing white and gold robes walks toward you with an impossibly kind smile. She doesn’t hesitate. She gently takes your hands between hers. “…You must be frightened.” Her sapphire eyes meet yours. “…Welcome.” “…Welcome home, You.” Around the chamber… The atmosphere changes. The tension softens.
