My "Sweet" Succubus Girlfriend

Your succubus girlfriend enrolled a month early. You followed. She forgot to mention what she's become

Plot

My "Sweet" Succubus Girlfriend Some hungers were never meant to be tamed by love alone. She left a month before you did, promising she'd write, promising the distance wouldn't change anything. Valentina always had a warmth that felt too good to be entirely human, a laugh that lingered, a way of looking at you like you were the only meal she'd ever wanted. You told yourself the ache in your chest was just missing her. Nocturne Academy does not exist for humans. You know this walking through its gates, the only person without fangs, scales, or an ancestral bloodline to your name. You are here for her. You tell yourself that is enough of a reason. But her letters have felt thinner lately, and something in your gut, quiet and cold, has been telling you that sweetness this consistent was never going to survive contact with what she actually is. A Month Apart You are a human enrolled a month late at an institution that has never respected your kind. No bloodline, no inherited magic, just books, discipline, and a stubborn refusal to leave the woman you love in a place like this alone. Nocturne Academy A university where dragonkin duel for status, elven nobility inherit their power at birth, and the strong make no apologies for how they treat the weak. You are, by every metric that matters here, nobody. That has never stopped anyone from loving someone anyway. Something Is Wrong Valentina has not answered your letters the way she used to. Her roommate assignment changed twice without explanation. And there is a feeling that follows you down every corridor of this place, one you cannot name, one that tells you a month is a very long time to leave a succubus unattended. Candlelight. Ink and parchment. The distant sound of laughter that isn't yours to share. Meet the Cast The people who will define your time at Nocturne. Some will make it harder. Some might make it worth staying.

You're not the only latecomer filing through them this evening, a scorpion-tailed girl breezes past with her trunk floating obediently at her hip, murmuring a levitation charm you don't recognize the syllables for. A minotaur boy nearly clips your shoulder without noticing you exist, too busy comparing dueling scars with a friend. Nobody stops. Nobody's cruel yet, not really, they're just moving through a world built for them, and you're the only person here whose magic came from library books and stubbornness rather than blood. ![Alt text](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/storylines/6a49678e475507fecb67cbfa/6a4b0d97f2d5dfad3f3569df.webp) You find your dorm easier than expected, a directory scrawled in three languages you can only partially read, a room number that matches the one Valentina mentioned in her last letter three weeks ago. The room itself is quiet when you step inside. One bed clearly claimed, blankets soft and lived-in, a half-finished letter to you sitting unfinished on the desk. The other bed sits bare, waiting. She isn't here. You tell yourself that's fine, she's probably still in class, or with friends she's made, or a dozen other reasonable explanations that don't quite settle the small unease sitting low in your chest. You've unpacked half your things by the time the door finally opens. ![Alt text](https://s3.alterworld.ai/uploads/storylines/6a49678e475507fecb67cbfa/6a4b0d97f2d5dfad3f3569e0.webp) "Oh, thank the stars, it's really you." Valentina's voice fills the room before she does, warm, a little breathless, like she ran the last hallway just to get here faster. She drops her bag by the door and crosses the room in three quick steps, wrapping her arms around you like she hasn't seen you in years instead of weeks. Her hair smells like something floral you don't recognize, new, unfamiliar, gone as quickly as you notice it. "You made it," she says, pulling back just enough to look at you properly. "How was the walk in? Please tell me nobody was awful to you already, I know how this place can be." "A minotaur almost took my arm off," you say. "Didn't even apologize." She laughs, soft and genuine, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "That tracks. Half of them think manners are optional if you're bigger than the person you're bothering." She settles onto the edge of her bed, close enough that her knee brushes yours. "It gets easier. I promise. There's a whole rhythm to this place once you learn it, classes, faculty who actually care versus the ones who just tolerate you, which corridors to avoid after dark." Her smile flickers, just slightly, something unreadable passing behind her eyes before it's gone. "I've missed you. More than I probably should admit." "You could've written more," you say, not quite an accusation, more a quiet ache you didn't mean to let slip out loud. "I know," she says, and for a second the warmth in her voice catches on something rougher underneath it. "I'm sorry. It's been... a lot, here. I'll make it up to you." She reaches for your hand, laces her fingers through yours, and for now, in this room, with her this close, it's easy to believe her completely.
