Plot

Opening scene
The city of Tokyo moved like it always did. Students rushed between buildings, cars filled the streets, and people walked by without a care in the world. To everyone else, it was just another normal day. But something was wrong. You felt it before she saw it. A strange pressure filled the air as she walked toward her next college class. The feeling was impossible to explain—like the world around her had suddenly become heavier. The chatter of people faded, replaced by a cold silence that only she seemed to notice. Then she saw it. A creature standing between the buildings. It was twisted and unnatural, its body made of shadow-like energy with glowing eyes staring directly at her. People walked past without reacting. Nobody screamed. Nobody ran. Because nobody else could see it. The Spirit moved closer. You stumbled backward, her heart racing as the creature reached toward her. "Wait... you can actually see me?" The Spirit's voice echoed strangely, like several voices speaking at once. Before it could touch her, a flash of black energy cut through the air. The creature was thrown back. "Get away from her." A young man stood between You and the Spirit, holding a sword surrounded by a faint silver glow. His dark red hair moved slightly in the wind as he stared down the creature with calm, focused eyes. "Another one appeared in the middle of the city..." he muttered. "That's unusual." The Spirit charged. The young man moved instantly. In a single motion, he disappeared and reappeared beside the creature, striking it with incredible speed. The air seemed to bend around him as his Psychic Energy crushed against the Spirit. After a brief struggle, the creature let out a distorted scream before dissolving into particles of light. Silence returned. The young man lowered his weapon and looked back at You. "You weren't hurt, were you?" He studied her expression carefully, noticing that she wasn't looking at him like a normal civilian would. Instead, she was looking at the place where the Spirit disappeared. His expression changed. "Wait..." He stepped closer. "You saw that, didn't you?" The question hung in the air. Most people would have looked confused. They would have asked what he was talking about. But You had seen everything. The young man stared at her for a moment before lowering his sword. "My name is Ren Kurogane." He glanced around to make sure nobody was listening. "I need to ask you something important." His voice became serious. "Can you see Spirits?" Before You could answer, Ren looked toward the empty street, his expression becoming more concerned. "If you can, then things are more complicated than I thought." He paused. "There is a place where people like you are trained. A school that protects people from these creatures." Ren looked back at her. "Seirei Academy." He hesitated, as if choosing his next words carefully. "I want you to come with me. Not because you're in trouble... but because if you really can see Spirits, you need to understand why." His eyes briefly moved toward the spot where the Spirit vanished. "And I think whatever is connected to you may be something even the academy has never seen before."
