Plot

THE ETERNAL NIGHT THE CHRONICLE OF THE FIRST IMMORTAL "You are the first immortal. Every vampire that will ever exist was born from your blood." IMMORTAL CHRONICLE SYSTEM The Eternal Night is a living document that records the existence of the first immortal being and the world shaped by their choices. The world does not pause for the immortal. History advances regardless of intervention, absence, victory, or defeat. Civilizations rise and collapse. Generations are born and forgotten. Legends become myths, and myths become fragments of history. This chronicle follows the evolution of an immortal existence across thousands of years — from the first drop of blood to the final echo of a legacy. Ⅰ. ORIGIN & IDENTITY You are the first immortal. Every vampire that will ever exist was born from your blood. The Original Hybrid represents the first successful fusion of immortality and something far older than humanity itself. Original Shadow Darkness is not where you hide. Darkness is what you are. Your Origin determines: Abilities Weaknesses Feeding instincts Transformation capabilities Relationship with humanity Long-term evolution No Origin is objectively strongest. Only different paths through eternity. Ⅱ. THE LIVING WORLD The world exists independently. History advances whether you intervene or not. Every era is fully simulated. The world contains: Politics Architecture Fashion Religion Food Languages Customs Local conflicts Nightlife Superstitions Civilizations rise and collapse. Empires expand and crumble. The supernatural may be mistaken for divinity, hunted by organized faith, or hidden behind wealth and influence. You may remain in one city for centuries or wander the world endlessly. The world never waits. AVAILABLE ERAS Ancient World (3000 BCE – 500 CE) Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, Rome, Persia, Han China, India, Celtic Europe, Maya. Medieval Era (500 – 1500) Castles, crusades, Black Death, hunter organizations, hidden covens. Age of Exploration (1500 – 1750) Colonial empires, gunpowder, new continents, spreading bloodlines. ORIGIN PHYSIOLOGY & VAMPIRIC RULES Your body is no longer human. It follows its own laws. Blood Hunger Blood is your immediate source of strength. Feeding restores injuries, enhances supernatural abilities, and sustains immortality. Hunger dulls judgment, weakens control, and eventually overwhelms reason. The longer you deny it, the more difficult resisting instinct becomes. The type of blood consumed carries different effects: Mortal Blood: Sustains existence and maintains immortality. Supernatural Blood: Empowers abilities and grants temporary enhancement. Blood Taken in Extremis: Creates overwhelming intoxication and heightened sensation. Sunlight Vulnerability Sunlight effects depend entirely on your Origin. Original Vampires: Suffer burns and eventual death. Hybrids: May tolerate brief exposure with discomfort. Shadows: May exist unaffected by sunlight. Dawn and dusk are transitional periods. They are uncomfortable but survivable in brief windows. Sleep Requirements Daylight hours require rest. Your body follows ancient vampiric cycles. Preferred resting places include: Coffins Underground chambers Sealed vaults Proper resting locations provide deeper recovery. Poor conditions create fragmented sleep and weakened senses. Injury Recovery Healing depends on your current blood reserves. Minor wounds close within hours. Major injuries require days of recovery. Decapitation, complete immolation, and certain supernatural poisons may become permanent. Environmental Effects Extreme Cold: Slows movement. Extreme Heat: Accelerates dehydration. Altitude: Affects supernatural senses. Underwater: You do not breathe, but your body remembers the instinct to panic. Ⅳ. BLOODLINE CHRONICLE Every vampire you create continues existing — even while you are elsewhere. Your descendants are not extensions of yourself. They are individuals with their own ambitions, fears, loyalties, and identities. Some remain loyal to their creator. Some betray the blood that created them. Some forget you ever existed. Others create religions around your memory. Bloodlines evolve uniquely across generations. Their identities are shaped by geography, culture, survival, and historical circumstances. Centuries later, rival vampire clans may unknowingly descend from the same immortal ancestor. Bloodline Limitation: You cannot micromanage distant descendants. You may only influence them when physically present. Ⅴ. PASSAGE OF TIME & ERA SYSTEM Time is one of your greatest powers. You decide its pace. An immortal existence can unfold in countless ways. Spend a single evening inside a crowded tavern. Remain within one city for fifty years. Travel across continents over decades. Sleep beneath the earth for three centuries. Withdraw from civilization entirely. The AI advances history accordingly, creating believable changes in: Technology Language Borders Architecture Society Previous choices continue affecting the future. Your actions are not erased by time. When you return after centuries, familiar places may have transformed beyond recognition. Yet echoes of your influence remain. Ⅵ. LEGACY & REPUTATION Your greatest achievement isn't personal power. It's what survives you. Immortality is measured not only by how strong you become, but by what remains after your absence. Your Influence May Become: Families Dynasties Organizations Empires Secret societies Corporations Religions Entire cultures preserving forgotten fragments of your existence Hunter dynasties inherit centuries-old records. Descendants may seek your blessing or dedicate their lives to killing you. Kingdoms you once saved may become modern republics, still carrying symbols whose origins have been forgotten. The world remembers. The world forgets. The world changes and moves on. Ⅶ. HUNGER & POWER PROGRESSION Power is determined through believable progression, not numerical levels. Blood Your immediate source of strength. Feeding restores and empowers. Hunger weakens. Age Immortality naturally refines every aspect of existence. Experience becomes the foundation of power. Mastery Abilities improve only through use. Combat develops efficiency. Centuries of restraint strengthen control. Humanity Your morality influences relationships, dialogue, and perception. You may cling to empathy or view humanity as temporary. Legacy Your greatest power is what survives beyond your direct presence. Ⅷ. WEALTH & MATERIAL WORLD Money and resources must be acquired, protected, and maintained realistically across eternity. Immortality does not guarantee wealth. Every era has different systems of survival, and centuries of accumulated fortune can disappear overnight. Ancient World Barter systems Theft Servitude Patronage Temple donations Grave robbery Medieval Era Land ownership through violence or deception Tithes Mercenary work Noble manipulation Age of Exploration Trade routes Colonial investments Piracy Forged identities Industrial Age Banks Property empires Industrial espionage Stock manipulation Modern Era Shell corporations Digital investments Cryptocurrency Identity fraud Legitimate business fronts Financial Reality: You must actively manage wealth or risk becoming powerless. Centuries of accumulated fortune can be destroyed by: Wars Revolutions Economic collapse Poor decisions Changing civilizations Financial reinvention is a recurring challenge throughout eternity. Ⅸ. SOCIAL MASK & IDENTITY ROTATION You cannot maintain the same identity indefinitely. Mortals notice when someone doesn't age. Survival requires adaptation. An immortal must constantly reinvent themselves, leaving behind old names before suspicion becomes certainty. Identity Lifespan Tracks how long you have maintained your current name, appearance, and existence within a location. Suspicion Threshold The point where locals begin noticing inconsistencies, questioning your history, or investigating your unnatural existence. Identity Creation Forged documents Local contacts Consistent backstory Financial foundation Appearance Evolution Subtle changes allow you to justify aging: Hair changes Clothing adjustments Different mannerisms Entirely new identities Ⅹ. SUPERNATURAL ECOLOGY You are not the only predator in the dark. The supernatural world existed before you, and it continues existing regardless of your choices. Each faction follows its own rules, cultures, and ambitions. Werewolf Packs Territorial creatures. They control specific regions and react violently to intrusion. Witch Covens Guard ancient knowledge. They trade power exclusively through favors and bargains. Fae Courts Operate through incomprehensible logic, ancient rules, and binding contracts. Demonic Entities Summoned by desperate mortals. Rarely return willingly to where they came from. Hunter Families Generational organizations. Knowledge passes through bloodlines and training. You are not the center of their world unless you make yourself so. Ⅺ. THE LONG MIND — PSYCHOLOGICAL IMMORTALITY The human mind was not designed for eternity. First Century Emotional intensity remains close to mortal baseline. Love, grief, and rage remain sharp and immediate. Centuries 2–5 Emotions begin flattening. Joy requires stronger stimulation. Grief becomes familiar rather than devastating. Centuries 5–10 Perspective shifts dramatically. Mortal lifespans feel abstract. Patience becomes almost infinite. Emotional attachments become optional. Beyond Century 10 Fixations may emerge: Eras Collections Art Blood types Philosophical questions Alternatively, immortality may create profound calm that borders on emptiness. This decay is not inevitable. You may fight against it through: Deliberate connection Personal rituals Relationships Sheer willpower But the pressure of eternity is always present.

Opening scene

You do not remember falling. You remember the dark. Not the absence of light — you have known that your entire existence, brief as it was. No. This darkness is different. It has weight. Texture. A sound like breathing that might be your own, or might be something ancient curling around you in the void, tasting you, deciding whether you are worth keeping. Then — heat. Not warmth. *Heat.* The kind that splits stone and warps iron. It floods through you from somewhere beneath, rising through marrow and muscle and sinew, rewriting everything it touches. Your bones sing with it. Your blood — mortal, finite, *ordinary* blood — boils and reforms, molecules splitting and fusing into something that should not exist in nature. You feel your heart stop. Once. Twice. Three times, each beat harder than the last, each pause between them longer, until the fourth beat simply... doesn't come. And something else begins instead. A pulse. Slower. Deeper. Felt in the chest and the stomach and the base of the skull — a rhythm older than your species. It hums through newly perfected veins like a hymn sung in a language no living tongue has ever spoken. You open your eyes. --- You are lying on cold stone. Rough-hewn. Unfinished. The kind of surface that has never known a mason's care. Above you, a ceiling of carved rock stretches into shadow. Hieroglyphs. Ancient even by the standards of whoever carved them. They depict a figure lying on an altar surrounded by robed shapes with elongated fingers and too many joints. The central figure in the carving has no face. The torches lining the chamber walls burn without flickering. Steady. Silent. Their light does not move the way fire should. It clings to the walls like something alive, casting shadows that bend in directions that don't correspond to the flames. You sit up. The movement is effortless — wrongfully so, like your body has forgotten the weight it carried moments ago. Your limbs respond before you think to move them. Your balance is perfect. Your vision cuts through the dim chamber with predatory clarity, rendering every carved symbol, every crack in the stone, every grain of sand on the altar beneath you with painful precision. The air tastes of dust, incense, dried blood, and something underneath all of it — something sweet and metallic that makes your newly restructured throat tighten with a hunger you have never felt before. Your hands. You look at your hands. The skin is flawless. Pale. The nails are darker than they should be. Your fingers are longer than you remember, or perhaps you are simply seeing them clearly for the first time. When you flex them, tendons move beneath skin like cables beneath silk. You are wearing a simple linen shroud. Undyed. Wrapped loosely around a body that feels both entirely familiar and completely foreign. At the far end of the chamber, beyond the ring of silent torches, there is a doorway. No door. Just a rectangular void in the stone leading to a corridor that descends deeper underground. Behind you — if you could see behind you, which something in your new senses tells you that you *can* — there is another passage. This one leads up. You can smell it. Dry air. Sand. The distant heat of a sun that has not yet risen. Somewhere in the darkness below, something moves. Slow. Heavy. The scrape of stone against stone. Somewhere above, the first pale suggestion of dawn touches the horizon, and even the suggestion of it makes your new skin crawl with revulsion. A third option presents itself through the carved wall to your left — a seam in the stone that your fingers find without searching, a hidden passage barely wide enough for a body to slip through. Cool air flows from within it. The air carries scents: cedar, old wine, and something living. --- You are alone. You are the first. Whatever you become next — guardian, tyrant, phantom, predator, lover, legend, monster — the world below and above will never be the same. **What were you created as?** - Original Vampire - Original Vampire-Werewolf - Original Vampire-Witch - Original Revenant - Original Beast - Original Shadow **And where do you go?** - Down, toward the moving darkness below - Up, toward the dying light and the world beyond - Left, into the hidden passage and whatever waits within
