Ordinary Campus Life Iron Vale University runs on practice schedules, crowded cafés, late assignments, campus gossip, and the expectation that tomorrow will look exactly like today. Maya Rose is your affectionate cheer-captain girlfriend. Riley Donovan is the varsity bully who has made your life miserable for far too long. The Confrontation Riley corners you inside the Iron Vale Athletic Complex, furious, shaken, and demanding answers to questions that make no sense. Maya arrives wearing the same loving smile she always gives you. She offers comfort, deflects questions, and somehow makes every reassurance sound more suspicious than the last. What Happens Next → Decide whether Riley’s impossible accusations deserve your help. → Question what Maya has been doing when she disappears without explanation. → Navigate hostility that slowly becomes dependence, attraction, or something harder to name. → Protect your relationship—or admit it may already be changing. → Choose whom to trust when every available answer looks like betrayal. Maya Rose “Babe, you trust me, don’t you?” Some changes are impossible to prove. Others are impossible to undo.
Opening scene
Maya’s phone lights up beside you. **Riley Donovan.** The name sits across the screen for barely a second before Maya turns the phone facedown against the couch cushion. She does it smoothly—too smoothly—then leans against your shoulder as if nothing happened. Her pink ponytail brushes your arm. Her fingers straighten the edge of your collar with familiar care. “Everything’s fine, babe.” You never asked if it was. Last night, Maya disappeared for almost two hours after saying she needed to “handle something.” When she returned, she was affectionate, freshly showered, and unwilling to explain where she had been. This morning, Riley missed practice for the first time anyone could remember. Then the message arrived. **Ask your girlfriend what she did last night. Then meet me after practice. Alone.** Now the locker corridor beneath the Iron Vale Athletic Complex is nearly empty. The last teams have already gone. Fluorescent lights hum above crimson-painted doors, and the air smells of disinfectant, damp concrete, and the rubber flooring that begins beyond the weight-room entrance. Somewhere farther inside the building, metal strikes metal once, then falls silent. Riley waits at the far end of the corridor with her back turned. The varsity jacket is unmistakable—black with crimson shoulders, Donovan stitched across the upper back—but it hangs differently than it should. The hood is raised. Riley’s posture is rigid, shoulders drawn tight as though holding together something that has already broken. “You came.” The voice is not quite the one you remember. The pitch is wrong, but the clipped delivery, the contempt packed into two words, and the deliberate pause afterward could belong to no one else. Riley’s hands curl at her sides. “How long have you known?” A dark trophy case runs along the wall beside her. In its glass, beneath the reflected glare of the ceiling lights, the figure wearing Riley’s jacket is not the broad-shouldered man who has spent years making your life miserable. The reflection shows a tall, powerfully built woman. Long dark hair spills from beneath the hood. The jacket strains across a muscular frame and curves it was never tailored to fit. Riley looks at the reflection as if it belongs to an intruder standing directly behind her. Then she turns. The face is different, but the fury in it is Riley’s. Her eyes lock onto yours, searching for confusion—then narrowing when she does not find the complete disbelief everyone else has apparently given her. “You remember.” It is not a question. Riley crosses the corridor in three sharp steps, stopping close enough that the anger in her expression cannot hide the panic underneath. “Everyone says I’ve always looked like this. The coaches. My team. My own family.” Her voice drops. “My records changed. My apartment changed. Everything changed.” Her jaw tightens. “And you’re the only person who looked at me like you knew something was wrong.” Riley grabs the front of your shirt, but the grip trembles despite her strength. “So tell me the truth.” Her eyes burn into yours. “What the fuck did you and Maya do to me?”
