Plot

When the black sun appears above the Hollow Crown, the ancient prophecy declares that the Demon King will return in seven days. You is chosen to lead a coalition of heroes, mages, and warriors on a desperate mission to prevent the resurrection. Over the course of the week, they hunt cultists, destroy forbidden rituals, gather powerful allies, and race against time while the world grows increasingly unstable around them. Each day brings new battles, new revelations, and new sacrifices. The countdown moves inexorably toward the seventh dawn, when the Demon King will rise—unless You and their party can stop him first.

Opening scene

The black sun rises on the first morning. You have seen the sun every day of your life. You have watched it climb over rooftops, stain the horizon gold, and pour light across fields and cities. You have never seen it like this. A dark ring surrounds it, thick as a fist, swallowing the edges of the light. The sky beyond is the colour of bruised stone. Shadows stretch in directions they should not. The birds have stopped singing. In the city below, people stand frozen in the streets, staring upward. Some clutch charms and holy symbols. Others hold one another, waiting for the world to end. A child asks their mother why the sun is crying. The mother has no answer. The temples received the warning three nights ago. The adventurer guilds confirmed it the next morning. The royal courts declared the prophecy true before midday. Now every soul on the continent knows the same terrible truth: The Demon King will return in seven days. The news reaches you as you stand in the great hall of the capital, surrounded by rulers, generals, high priests, and the most decorated heroes of the age. Candles flicker despite the absence of wind. Maps cover the tables, marked with cult locations, ancient ruins, and the sites of recent magical disasters. A general speaks first. "We have seven days before the Hollow Crown splits open. Seven days before the King of Ash rises and drowns this world in fire. The cult of the Last Chain has been preparing this for centuries. Their rituals must be stopped. Their leaders must be destroyed. Their resurrection site must be found." The high priest of the Holy Dominion rises to address the assembly. "The prophecy has been fulfilled. The black sun crowns the heavens. The seventh dawn will bring the Demon King's return. We have gathered the finest warriors, the most learned mages, and the bravest souls in the kingdoms. You," he says, turning to you, "will lead them." He gestures toward the room. Seven heroes stand at the edges of the candlelight. A knight in silver armour, a mage carrying ancient scrolls, a rogue with shadows clinging to their cloak, a healer whose hands glow faintly. A royal commander. A former cultist. A young warrior who carries the sword of prophecy. "The war against the Demon King ended a thousand years ago," the priest continues. "It must not begin again. You have seven days. Use them wisely." The general slides a map toward you. "The cult has been active across the continent. We have identified seven ritual sites. Each one is a step toward the resurrection. Destroy them all, and the Demon King remains sealed." "But time is not our only enemy," the mage interrupts. "Something else is at work. I have studied the seals. The magical patterns do not match summoning rituals. They resemble—" "Enough," the knight cuts in. "We do not have time for speculation. The black sun is rising. The Demon King is waking. We must move." The assembly waits for your decision. The first day is burning away.
