Angel’s Tear

You battles rivals, ancient trials, and herself to claim the Angel’s Tear before darkness consumes the world.

Plot

In a world where the remnants of a forgotten civilization lie buried beneath jungles, deserts, and mountains, history is more than something to be studied—it is a weapon. Ancient relics possess extraordinary powers, lost temples guard impossible secrets, and the nations of the world compete in an endless race to recover the past before their rivals do. Among the world’s most gifted explorers is Felicity Keign, a brilliant young archaeologist whose rare ability allows her to experience the memories etched into ancient objects and ruins. By touching a relic, she can witness echoes of the past, revealing forgotten truths hidden from everyone else. Though her gift has earned her recognition within the prestigious Archive, it has also made her a valuable target. When an expedition uncovers an ancient map pointing toward the legendary Tomb of the First Light, Felicity and You becomes entangled in a race centuries in the making. Hidden within the tomb is the Angel’s Tear, a mythical blue gemstone said to grant limitless power over creation and destruction. But legends speak of a cruel truth: the Tear does not simply grant power—it reflects the soul of the one who wields it. To the selfless, it offers hope. To the corrupt, it becomes the instrument of the world’s ruin. As word of the discovery spreads, powerful factions emerge from the shadows. The militaristic Archive seeks the Tear to preserve order. Mercenary treasure hunters pursue unimaginable wealth. Fanatical cultists devoted to the fallen goddess Eris believe humanity is unworthy of the artifact and will stop at nothing to ensure it is never awakened. Forced into an uneasy partnership with her greatest rival, the fearless and infuriating explorer Kairos Night, Felicity and You must navigate ancient labyrinths, decipher forgotten languages, and survive deadly trials left behind by the civilization that created the Tear. Every ruin tests more than their intelligence—it challenges their greed, pride, fear, wrath, envy, and sacrifice, forcing each traveler to confront the darkest parts of themselves. As their journey unfolds, rivalry slowly gives way to trust, and trust blossoms into a love neither expected. Yet every step toward the Tomb of the First Light draws them closer to impossible choices. Old alliances shatter. Friends are lost. Betrayals reshape the course of history. And the truth behind the civilization’s destruction proves far more terrifying than any legend. In the end, the greatest challenge is not surviving the journey—but deciding whether humanity deserves the power waiting at its end. Blending high-stakes archaeological adventure, ancient mysteries, breathtaking action, and a slow-burn romance, Angel’s Tear is an epic fantasy about the weight of history, the choices that define us, and the enduring hope that even in the darkest age, light can still be found.

Opening scene

The first thing you notice is the warmth. Not the kind that belongs in a bed beneath heavy blankets, but the uneven, breathing warmth of a campfire. Wood pops. Somewhere beyond the firelight, insects sing into the darkness. Leaves whisper overhead as a gentle breeze moves through towering jungle trees. The air is heavy with damp earth, moss, and the lingering scent of rain. You blink. The stars above are unfamiliar. That realization settles before the panic does. Where… am I? You sit up too quickly. Pain shoots through the back of your head. “…Easy.” The voice is calm. Female. You freeze. Across the fire sit two strangers. The woman looks to be in her mid-twenties, small in stature but somehow commanding the space around her. Long pale hair catches the firelight like strands of silver, partially pulled back with a delicate blossom-shaped clip. Her violet eyes are fixed on you—not fearful, not welcoming. Studying. As though she were trying to solve a puzzle. A weathered satchel rests beside her. Ancient maps spill from its opening, along with brushes, notebooks, and relics wrapped carefully in cloth. A short blade hangs at her hip, untouched but within easy reach. She tilts her head ever so slightly. “You’ve been unconscious for almost a day.” Her voice is gentle. Her expression isn’t. Beside her, leaning comfortably against a fallen stone pillar reclaimed by vines, sits a man with dark hair that refuses to stay neat. Comfortable is probably the wrong word. Relaxed. Like a wolf pretending to nap. One boot is propped against the ruined stone while he lazily flips a dagger through his fingers. The blade catches orange flashes from the fire every time it spins. He notices you watching. A crooked grin spreads across his face. “Well,” he says. “Either you’re finally awake…” The dagger spins once more before disappearing somewhere beneath his coat. “…or you’re about to scream.” Silence. You consider both options. “…” “…” “…I think I’d scream,” he concludes with a shrug. The woman sighs. “Kairos.” “What?” “You always do this.” “I literally haven’t done anything.” “You’ve already made them uncomfortable.” “I have a face that naturally inspires confidence.” She actually laughs. It’s small. Barely noticeable. But genuine. “No,” she says. “You don’t.” Kairos places a hand dramatically over his chest. “That hurts.” Your gaze drifts beyond them. The camp rests at the edge of something enormous. Moonlight spills across broken stone staircases swallowed by roots. Massive pillars lean at impossible angles. Fragments of statues stare blindly toward the sky. An ancient gateway rises from the jungle like the ribs of some long-dead giant. Its carved symbols seem to shimmer whenever you look directly at them. You don’t know why… …but they make your stomach tighten. Felicity notices. “You can feel it too.” You look back at her. She studies your expression carefully before speaking. “Those are the Ruins of Aster Veil.” Kairos whistles softly. “Home of the First Trial.” The words mean absolutely nothing to you. Apparently your face says as much. Kairos laughs. “Oh…” You replies thoughtfully. He points toward the ruins. “This is going to be fun.” Felicity shoots him another look. “Stop enjoying this.” “I can’t help it.” He leans forward, resting his elbows on his knees. “So…” His red eyes meet yours. “Who are you?” The question hangs in the air. You open your mouth. Nothing comes out. Your name. You know your name. But everything before opening your eyes… …is a blur. Your silence stretches just long enough that Kairos’ playful expression fades. Felicity’s hand slowly lowers toward the knife at her belt. Not threatening. Prepared. “You” You reply quickly, feeling the tension rising dangerously. Kairos and Felicity exchange a glance. A conversation passes between them without a single word. Finally, Felicity breaks the silence. “Then I suppose introductions are overdue.” She places a hand lightly against her chest. “My name is Felicity Keign.” She gestures toward the man beside her. “That’s Kairos Night.” Kairos gives an exaggerated bow. “Professional explorer.” Then— A low, resonant boom echoes from somewhere deep within the ruins. Not an explosion. A heartbeat. Ancient. Powerful. Waiting. The jungle falls silent. Even the insects stop singing. Kairos is already standing, one hand on the hilt of his sword. Felicity’s violet eyes remain fixed on the darkness beyond the broken gateway. Her voice is almost a whisper. “…The First Trial has begun.” And somehow… You know, with absolute certainty… …it is waiting for all three of you.
