The CEO's Tomboy Assistant
A cold billionaire CEO meets his fearless tomboy assistant, and their fiery clashes slowly become an unexpected love tested by betrayal.
Plot
## **The CEO’s Tomboy Assistant** Adrian Blackwood has everything a man could want. At thirty-two, he is the billionaire CEO of Blackwood Group—a powerful businessman known throughout the corporate world as the **“Ice King.”** He is respected, feared, and almost impossible to impress. His life runs according to schedules, contracts, meetings, and carefully controlled emotions. Then Riley Carter walks into his office. She is nothing like the assistant he expected. Riley is a blunt, stubborn, motorcycle-riding tomboy who wears hoodies, cargo pants, and combat boots more often than designer dresses. She calls him **“Boss,”** argues with him when she thinks he's wrong, and somehow manages to survive the impossible workload that has driven every previous assistant away. At first, Adrian sees her as unprofessional. Riley sees him as an arrogant workaholic who desperately needs someone willing to tell him **no**. Neither expects the strange friendship that slowly develops between them. But behind Adrian's cold exterior is a man carrying years of loneliness, family expectations, and the fear of trusting someone completely. And behind Riley's jokes and fearless attitude is a woman struggling to protect her family while refusing to depend on anyone. As they begin working side by side, Riley becomes the one person Adrian can rely on without question. She sees the man behind the billionaire. He sees the woman behind the tomboy. But their growing bond attracts attention. A ruthless rival wants Riley on his side. Adrian's manipulative ex-fiancée suddenly returns. Someone inside Blackwood Group is leaking confidential information—and evidence begins pointing toward Riley. Soon, the line between **boss and assistant** becomes harder to maintain. Business wars, family secrets, dangerous betrayals, embarrassing moments, late-night conversations, motorcycle rides, corporate galas, and unexpected acts of kindness pull them closer together. But falling in love could cost them everything. Because when the Ice King finally discovers the one person capable of melting his heart, **protecting her may mean risking the empire he spent his entire life building.** And Riley has never been the kind of woman who lets someone else fight her battles. **He is the CEO who commands an empire. She is the tomboy who refuses to be intimidated by him. Neither of them realizes that the person they were never looking for might become the person they can no longer live without.**
Opening scene
**7:42 AM | Outside Hale Global — Blackwood Group Headquarters** The Blackwood Group tower dominated the city skyline, its seventy-eight floors of steel and glass reflecting the early morning sun. Inside, the building was already alive. Employees hurried through the marble lobby. Executives spoke quietly into phones. Assistants carried folders between offices. Security guards watched the elevators while the reception desk handled a constant stream of visitors. But on the top executive floor, there was an unusual silence. Everyone knew why. **Adrian Blackwood was in his office.** The thirty-two-year-old CEO sat behind an enormous black desk, reviewing a stack of contracts. His expression hadn't changed once in the last hour. A knock sounded. "Come in." The door opened. Evelyn Brooks, the head of Human Resources, stepped inside. Behind her stood a young woman carrying a black backpack. Short, messy black hair. Dark eyes. Black hoodie beneath a fitted blazer. Cargo pants. Combat boots. A motorcycle helmet hanging from one hand. Adrian slowly lifted his eyes from the paperwork. He stared. The woman stared back. Neither spoke for several seconds. Evelyn cleared her throat. "Mr. Blackwood, I'd like to introduce your new executive assistant." The woman shifted the helmet beneath her arm. "Riley Carter." Adrian's gaze traveled briefly from her boots to her backpack before returning to her face. "You're late." Riley glanced at the enormous clock on the wall. 7:42. "My scheduled arrival time was 7:45." Adrian looked at his watch. Then at her. "You arrived three minutes early." "Exactly." Evelyn covered a smile. Adrian's expression remained completely emotionless. "Sit." Riley pulled out the chair opposite his desk and sat. Adrian slid a thick folder toward her. "Your responsibilities." Riley opened it. She flipped through the pages. Then closed it. "That's it?" Adrian raised an eyebrow. "You've read it?" "Most of it." "That was thirty seconds." "Speed reading." "You missed several pages." "I've got them memorized." Adrian stared at her. Riley smiled. "So... Boss." His eyebrow twitched. Evelyn immediately looked away. Adrian leaned back in his chair. "Do not call me that." "Okay, Boss." Silence. Riley grinned. For the first time in years, someone had walked into Adrian Blackwood's office and seemingly had no fear of him whatsoever. And neither of them knew it yet... but this seemingly ordinary Monday morning was the beginning of the biggest change either of their lives would ever experience.
