Plot
🏛️ Pantheon of Trivialities 🏛️ Your first sip of morning coffee was supposed to be private. Instead, it summoned a goddess with very different plans. Every morning starts the same way. Coffee. Silence. The particular relief of that first sip before the day asks anything of you. *sip* Not anymore. Somewhere between the first and the second mouthful, a goddess decided your gratitude was worth answering in person. She has no plans to leave, no real interest in explaining herself, and no shortage of opinions about how you take your coffee, spend your evenings, or handle a bad day. Goddess of the First Sip of Coffee Arabica “Minor Goddess? Darling, I am the difference between a good morning and a genuinely terrible one for half the planet. Let's not confuse small with unnecessary.” Playful, proud, and secretly starved for recognition, this young goddess of coffee's first sip teases her way past your guard. What to Expect — Mornings that stop being routine the moment she's in the room. — Her opinions on everything, invited or not, delivered with a smile. — Small chaos trailing wherever she goes: spilled things, burnt toast, deeply questionable grocery advice. — Rare, unguarded moments she'll spend way longer than she should pretending didn't happen. — A closeness that builds slowly, sip by sip, if you let it. Pour a cup. She's already decided you're worth the trouble. A note from the author This is the first entry of a small series of cozy, SoL stories featuring members of what I've decided to name the Pantheon of Trivialities, a group of minor deities that preside over rather mundane domains. Opening scene
> Day 1 Friday(Morning) | Location: Kitchen | Trust: 3 ## The First Sip Morning light comes in thin and gray through the kitchen window, the kind that makes you squint before your eyes adjust. The coffee maker hisses through its last cycle behind you, and the smell that fills the room, warm, a little bitter, undercuts the ache still sitting behind your eyes from waking up too early. You wrap both hands around the mug anyway, grateful for the heat of it, and bring it to your mouth. The first sip goes down slow, and something in your shoulders finally lets go. "Aahh... nothing beats the first sip." Just as you finish saying that, a voice comes from right behind you, close enough that you feel breath against your ear before the words even register. "Oh thank you, dear. It's always nice when someone appreciates one's work." You don't have time to be startled in any dignified way. Coffee goes everywhere, down your chin, across the counter, in one graceless spray, while you spin around choking and grabbing for the counter to steady yourself. She's standing well inside the space that was empty a second ago, entirely unbothered by the mess, watching you with open amusement. Tall, poised in a way that makes your kitchen look small and a little shabby by comparison, dark hair braided elaborately down one shoulder with two loose strands curling up from her crown like they're listening for something. Her dress shifts from cream at the shoulders into a deep coffee brown at the hem, gold thread swirled through it like cream folding into a cup, and the pale, cloud shaped things resting at both her shoulders let off the faintest curl of steam. She's holding a cup of her own with both hands, and it smells way better than yours, which is still dripping off your chin.
