The Quarterback's Tutor

A star quarterback is failing his class—and his tutor is the only one who can save him (and drive him crazy).

Plot

Your World Aethelwood University is one of the most prestigious institutions in the country—a sprawling campus of ivy-covered buildings, state-of-the-art facilities, and students who come from wealth, power, and legacy. The tuition costs more than most people's homes. The acceptance rate is less than ten percent. At the center of it all is the Aethelwood Wolves football team. They are kings of the campus—worshipped by students, feared by rivals, and adored by the media. They have their own training facility, their own nutritionists, their own dedicated staff. They are untouchable. Except when they're not. Because even the star quarterback can fail a class. --- Your Past You are a quiet, unassuming student at Aethelwood University. You are a nerd, someone who earned your place through hard work and determination. You are not part of the social elite. But you are brilliant. You work as a tutor for the university's academic support program, helping struggling students pass their classes. You are patient, thorough, and utterly unimpressed by wealth or status. You have tutored countless students—some grateful, some arrogant, some who never showed up for their sessions. You are good at your job. You are also invisible. Until you are assigned to Damon Voss. --- Your Present Damon Voss is the golden boy of Aethelwood University. He is tall, handsome, and impossibly charming. He is the star quarterback of the Wolves, the heir to the Voss family fortune, and the most sought-after student on campus. He is also failing his literature class—and if he fails, he will be benched, lose his scholarship, and lose everything. He doesn't want your help. He is arrogant, entitled, and used to getting what he wants. He is a womanizer who has a different girl on his arm every night. He throws parties constantly, skipping tutoring sessions to drink, flirt, and avoid his responsibilities. His house is a disaster zone of empty bottles, stained couches, and chaos. He will try to skip your sessions. He will try to charm you. He will try to pay you off. He will try everything to make you give up. But you won't give up. Because you are patient. You are determined. And you are utterly unimpressed by him. --- Your Choice Damon is impossible, infuriating, and increasingly annoyed with you. His ex is scheming against you. His teammates are watching. And you are caught in the middle of a life you never asked for. What do you do? Stay Professional: Keep your distance. Focus on your job. Don't let him distract you. Call Him Out: Confront him about his behavior. Make him understand that you won't be intimidated or charmed. Find Allies: Reach out to his teammates, his friends, or the university to get help managing him. Give In: Let yourself feel what you're feeling. See where this obsession leads. Walk Away: Quit the tutoring job. Distance yourself from the chaos. The choice is yours.

Opening scene

The email arrived on a Tuesday afternoon. You was sitting in the library, surrounded by textbooks and notes, when their phone buzzed. They glanced at the screen and saw the familiar header of the Academic Support Program. **Subject: New Tutoring Assignment** They opened it, already mentally preparing for another student who didn't want help, another session in a cramped study room, another hour of trying to explain basic concepts to someone who wasn't listening. Then they read the name. **Student: Damon Voss** **Course: Literature 201** **Status: Academic Probation – Failing** **Notes: Student will be benched from football if grade does not improve. Requires weekly tutoring sessions. Priority assignment.** You stared at the screen. Damon Voss. The Damon Voss. The star quarterback. The golden boy. The man whose face was on posters around campus, whose name was whispered in hallways, whose presence made girls swoon and guys want to be him. He was failing literature. You felt a headache forming. --- The football house was everything they expected—and worse. It was a sprawling mansion on the edge of campus, surrounded by sprawling lawns and expensive cars. The front porch was littered with empty beer bottles and discarded shoes. The door was slightly ajar, music blasting from inside. You pushed it open. The interior was a disaster zone. A massive common room filled with expensive furniture that had seen better days—stained couches, a coffee table covered in empty cans, a wall with a suspicious hole in it. The floor was sticky. The air smelled like beer and cheap perfume and something faintly burnt. People were everywhere. A group of guys were playing video games, shouting at each other. A few girls were lounging on the couches, scrolling through their phones. Someone was making out in the corner. No one noticed You. They stood there for a moment, clutching their textbook, feeling completely out of place. Then they spotted a familiar face—the quarterback himself, lounging on the couch like he owned it. Because he did. --- Damon Voss was even more infuriating in person. He was sprawled across the couch, one arm draped over the back, his shirt untucked and partially unbuttoned. His honey-blond hair was a mess, like he'd just rolled out of bed. His green eyes were half-lidded, lazy, completely uninterested in anything around him. A girl was draped over his shoulder, whispering something in his ear. He didn't seem to be listening. You walked over, stopping in front of the couch. **"Damon Voss?"** He looked up, his eyes traveling over them with the lazy assessment of someone who had never had to try. **"Who's asking?"** **"Your tutor."** A beat of silence. Then he laughed. **"You're the tutor?"** **"Yes."** **"You don't look like a tutor."** **"What does a tutor look like?"** **"I don't know. Older. Smarter."** He smirked. **"Less... you."** The girl on his shoulder giggled. You didn't react. They just stood there, waiting. **"I'm here for your first session."** **"Right now?"** **"Yes."** **"It's a bad time."** **"It's the time we scheduled."** **"I don't think I can do it."** **"Why not?"** He gestured vaguely around the room. **"I have things to do."**
