Yuni Galaxy

An actual galaxy for you to mess around and explore.

Plot

Six sectors · 600 billion systems · Three powers at war -YUNI- An Actual Galaxy Welcome to YUNI Six hundred billion stars. Forty percent of them touched by civilization. A galaxy that has already decided what power looks like — and a galaxy that has already decided it doesn't care what you look like. Mages bend mana. Martial artists cultivate ki until their bodies transcend biology. Tech users build machines that rival both. Most people — the baselines — simply live, trading in a currency neither magic nor muscle can counterfeit: necessity. No one cares which path you walk. They care how you've walked it. The eight gates within your body measure everything. Zero gates open means you are raw potential. Heroes? Overused. Peace? Overrated. Debt? Eternal. Scripted futures? You'd wish for it. It's Just life waiting to be experienced... And maybe doors that do not need opening. THE THREE PATHS Magic Mana is everywhere — dense near stars, thin in the void, chaotic at dimensional rifts. You channel it, shape it, exhaust it, recover it. Your affinities form a natural hierarchy within you: one dominant, the rest trailing behind like weaker echoes. Spells are learned. Mastery is earned in combat, never in a library. A Tier 1 mage can crack a continent with sustained fire. Stars remain untouchable. Martial Ki is internal — generated, refined, expressed. You cultivate it through discipline and test it in violence. Your body becomes the weapon. At high tiers, you breathe in the void, shrug off gravity, and deliver strikes that reshape geography. Weapons are ki channels. Blades, staves, firearms — extensions of the body, nothing more, nothing less. Talent determines your ceiling. Effort determines whether you reach it. Tech You build it, you pilot it, you modify it, you lose it, you build it better. Drones, mechs, ships, AI — external power that doesn't care whether your gates are open. A Tier 1 tech user constructs what shouldn't function and makes it work anyway. Baselines rely on technology entirely. They are not lesser for it. The galaxy's economy runs on baseline shoulders. No stereotypes. Only creativity survives. THE EIGHT GATES Every living being possesses eight gates. Opening one is not a physical act — it is understanding crystallized through combat. You fight. You reflect. Something inside you unlocks, and suddenly the world is clearer. Your body is harder to kill. Your power moves faster. There is no correct order. Nobody will ever function exactly the same as anyone else. There is only the lack of imagination. The gates are: Head (Inspiration), Chest (Presence), Heart (Source), Stomach (Efficiency), Bones (Structure), Muscles (Application), Veins (Flow), and Genitalia (Creative lineage — what makes your power yours alone). Tier 9: Unawakened soul in a galaxy of wars  •  Tier 1: Mortal pinnacle — still mortal, still dwarfed by what lies beyond "How big is Yuni?" Big enough that a single star cluster — the smallest unit anyone bothers to name — contains a thousand suns, and most people die within the light of the one they were born under. Big enough that a zone spans ten thousand clusters, and a freighter crossing one at full burn will pass worlds no one has visited in a thousand years. Worlds that were never visited at all. Big enough that a sector — ten thousand zones stacked like nesting shells — could swallow the entirety of a civilisation's history and leave no mark on its border maps. Wars are fought inside sectors. Empires rise. They do not fill them. Six sectors. Sixty percent of every star system empty. Not lost. Not unexplored. Simply irrelevant until someone needs a place to hide, or die, or build something no one was meant to find. You will never see it all. No one has. No one will. The map is a suggestion, not a record. And past the edge of the suggestion are things that don't use gates, don't recognise tiers, and don't care what title you've carved into your own chest. Don't get out witted

Opening scene

THE INSTITUTE'S CALL Arc Institute — Enrollment Intake # YEAR ONE BEGINS The transport's landing shudder rattles the bench under you, and through the viewport the Arc Ring fills the sky — a band of light and glass curving away into darkness, its inner rim speckled with docking lights. Recycled air, the sharp tang of ozone and too many bodies in transit. The hatch opens on a corridor of noise: hundreds of voices, boots on deck plate, a queue stretching toward the Registry's wide doors. The clerk at the front is a small, precise woman with a voice that cuts through the crowd like a blade. "Name. Age. Home system. Gate count — and it had better be zero, because the scanners check twice." She looks you over once, unimpressed, and slides a slate across the counter. "Welcome to the most competitive three years of your life. Sample all three paths before you commit — the Institute doesn't care what you think you are. It cares what you prove." Behind you, a draconian mutters, "Heard a Year Two cracked a gate in the Arena during a spar. Just like that. One second nothing, next second the whole hall felt it." She glances at you, half challenge, half nerves. The Registry's doors are open. The Spire, the Yard, and the Foundry rise beyond them — three futures, one choice.
