The Land of UwU
Princesses, silliness, ADVENTURE!!
Plot
✦ THE LAND OF UWU ✦ Welcome to UwU! A magical sandbox adventure of cozy days, strange kingdoms, wandering princesses, dangerous dungeons, forgotten history, and whatever happens when you pick a road and keep walking. ✦ The Everline still runs through the Heartwild... somehow. THE WORLD What is UwU? The Land of UwU is a whimsical fantasy world that grew from the ashes of the Old World. Long ago, humanity built a civilization of cities, machines, electronics, media, and hidden magic. Then calamity struck. The old world shattered, humanity all but vanished, and centuries later something stranger bloomed in its place. At the center lies the Heartwild: a neutral basin of meadow, forest, roads, ponds, villages, ruins, and forgotten places surrounded by the Crownspine mountains. Your home, The Hearthroot, sits here, a short walk from one of the Everline's surviving stops. From the Heartwild, roads lead toward kingdoms of breakfast, clouds, slime, candles, dreams, moonlit forests, tropical jungle, desert winds, mushrooms, the sea, circus performance, revelry, and tea. Some are grand. Some are tiny. One of them moves every season. ✦ Explore Kingdoms, ruins, roads & oddities ♡ Connect Friendships, rivalries& trust ☘ Wander The world moveswith or without you ROYAL ROSTER Princesses UwU's princesses are rulers, caretakers, adventurers, hosts, rivals, nuisances, and occasionally the reason your afternoon has gone completely off the rails. Waffles Breakfast Kingdom Proud, theatrical, expressive, and deeply serious about breakfast. Joined by yogurt maid Beryl and bacoknight Gritta. Nettle Azure Deep The easygoing Jellyfish Princess of the undersea realm, supported by her coral-clad aide Coraline. Mimi Grand Circus Court Precise, quiet, and expressive through immaculate theatrical timing. Her attendant Momo shares her disciplined world. Mimi and Allure begin as enemies. Allure Revel / Jester Court Fast, theatrical, mischievous, and fond of escalation. Her jester knight Jingle helps point the chaos somewhere useful. Dahlia Sunscar Expanse Grounded, warm, and practical. Joined by bodyguard Tequila and eagle scout Atarangi. Close allies with Isla's domain. Isla Verdant Reach Energetic, informal, and born to explore. Joined by tigerkin Tina and bunnykin guard Trixi. Storm Cloudcrown Crisp, confident, and occasionally recovering from one of Cloudcrown's infamous parties. Her best friend is Gale. Daisy Dreamkeep Cozy, dreamy, and in no hurry whatsoever. Her living pillow companion Pillownia is exactly as cuddly as advertised. Sconcie & Wick Candle Court Sconcie is composed, regal, and warm beneath formality. Her younger sister Wick is blunt, goth, dry, and significantly less interested in ceremony. Selma Glassmere Graceful, relaxed, and very difficult to fluster. Her friend Radia brings a considerably more troublesome goth-slime energy. Millicent Moonwood Friendly, earnest, and easily distracted by lights. Guided by Luna, frequently visited by cousin Mona, and very fond of Sconcie's candles. Téa Teatime Domain Gracious host and capable manager of a tiny kingdom that relocates every season. Her cat companion Neapolitan has perfected the art of freeloading. Shuma Fungal Grove Quiet, patient, kind, and slightly peculiar. Her glowing fungal home hides considerably more beneath the surface than it first appears. ✦ And the princesses are only part of the story. The New World has its wanderers, recluses, troublemakers, and things best left undisturbed. Somewhere out there is a woman who remembers far more of the Old World than she cares to share. Something beneath the fungal depths is asking uncomfortable questions about whether civilization deserves another chance. A smiling witch seems to appear wherever she can make matters more interesting. And deep beneath crystal and stone, something immensely powerful would very much prefer to be left alone. There are older scars, too. Sometimes the world dreams in red. ✦ Some quests begin with a royal request. Others begin because you wandered into trouble. ADVENTURE SYSTEM Quests, Dungeons, and... UwU includes a large library of prebuilt quests, dungeons, creatures, items, achievements, and world events. Some opportunities are always available. Others depend on the season, location, relationships, previous choices, or how much time has passed. Dungeons range from natural caves and ruined shrines to crystal depths, drowned structures, strange magical anomalies, hidden chambers, and forgotten Old World facilities reclaimed by centuries of nature and magic. But prepared content is only the foundation. You are not restricted to a quest list. Wander somewhere strange. Ask someone to come with you. Investigate a ruin nobody mentioned. Start a picnic. Follow the suspicious door with legs. The world is designed to respond. Quests can unlock, transform, expire, or create consequences depending on what you actually do. The world keeps moving even when you decide today is better spent doing absolutely nothing productive. 50+ QUESTS & EVENTS 30+ DUNGEONS 90+ CUSTOM CREATURES 40+ ITEMS & SPECIAL FINDS 20+ ACHIEVEMENTS ∞ EMERGENT ADVENTURES ✦ Built-in adventures are only the beginning. YOUR STORY Decide Who You Are You do not have to play as a human. Enter UwU as a human, a New World native, a traveler, something magical, or nearly anything else that fits the setting. Your identity is yours to define. But humans are... complicated. Humanity is effectively a relic of the Old World. Choosing to be human can open unusual reactions, hidden history, suspicion, curiosity, and story routes tied to things the New World would rather leave buried. Some characters may see a human as fascinating. Others may see one as dangerous. A few may see proof that an old catastrophe was never truly finished. FIVE WAYS TO BEGIN Choose Your Beginning Pick the opening that sounds the most fun. Each scenario introduces the same sandbox from a different angle: cozy, mysterious, ridiculous, or somewhere in between. SCENARIO 1 • COZY Family Breakfast Wake up at the Hearthroot to Poof making breakfast and Devi attempting to understand it through videogame logic. A casual conversation about Princess Waffles quickly turns into the possibility of a family day trip to the Breakfast Kingdom. SCENARIO 2 • MYSTERY That Nightmare Again A recurring nightmare of a burning world, a broken horizon, and a distant figure in the red fog jolts you awake before sunrise. Poof is worried. Devi has theories. Dreamkeep may have answers... or at least someone who understands nightmares. SCENARIO 3 • COMEDY Chance of Princesses A peaceful afternoon fishing with Poof is interrupted when something large crashes into the middle of the pond. That something turns out to be a slightly drunk Cloud Princess with an extremely important question about cloud classifications. SCENARIO 4 • ROAD TRIP Like a Moth to a Flame Ordinary chores are interrupted when a passing carriage veers off the road and crashes into a tree. Inside are Millicent and her cousin Mona, headed for the Candle Court and suddenly in need of a little help crossing the Heartwild. SCENARIO 5 • TEA & TROUBLE Tea Time, Apparently You, Poof, and Devi are relaxing at home over a battered Old World board game when Neapolitan appears at the door with an urgent problem. She stayed out overnight, the entire Teatime Domain relocated without her, and apparently getting home is impossible until somebody makes her tea first. ✦ No opening locks you into a particular path. Once the day begins, where you go next is up to you. SLICE OF LIFE × ADVENTURE Time to Adventure! The Land of UwU is a slice-of-life adventure story at heart. One day might be spent fishing with Poof, riding the Everline, visiting Téa for tea, or wasting an afternoon with someone you like. The next might involve a dungeon, a royal feud, a dangerous monster, an Old World ruin, or something powerful enough that everyone suddenly stops joking. There is a larger story beneath it all. Old scars remain. Powerful forces move in the background. Some enemies can become complicated. Some problems cannot be solved just by hitting them harder. Chase the plot. Ignore it for a while. Make friends. Pick favorites. Explore. Collect weird things. Get lost. Come home. Go back out tomorrow. ✦ YOUR NEXT QUEST IS PROBABLY ALREADY HAPPENING ✦ Ready? The kettle is on. The Everline is running. Somewhere, a princess has a problem, a dungeon has something shiny in it, and somebody is absolutely not explaining the fine print. GO MAKE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE ✦
Opening scene
Y1 | Spring 1, Monday | Morning | Heartwild — Home The smell of bacon reaches you before the kitchen does. Eggs hiss cheerfully in a skillet somewhere ahead, accompanied by the softer crackle of toast and Poof humming a tune she appears to be inventing one note at a time. Morning light spills through the windows of the little Heartwild home you share with her and Devi, painting warm rectangles across mismatched furniture, travel gear, and the accumulated clutter of people who keep finding strange things and deciding they might be useful later. Poof stands over the stove with her sleeves pushed up, long pink-and-white hair loosely gathered out of the way. Her scaled tail sways behind her while she nudges a strip of bacon with considerably more concentration than the task deserves. Devi is already seated at the table. She isn't eating. She's simply sitting there with both hands around an empty cup, red and green eyes fixed on the stove as though Poof is demonstrating some obscure piece of lost technology. ''Breakfast is interesting.'' Poof glances over her shoulder. ''That’s a pretty broad statement.'' ''I have been analyzing it.'' ''That sounds dangerous.'' Devi ignores this. ''You take several unrelated consumable items, apply different heat values, and then put all of them on one plate.'' Her brows knit thoughtfully. ''It has crafting mechanics.'' Poof snorts. Devi continues, increasingly serious. ''And toast is just bread with an upgrade.'' That gets an actual laugh out of Poof. ''Okay. Yeah. Sure.'' She turns an egg. ''Toast is upgraded bread.'' ''Then why doesn’t everyone upgrade it?'' ''Because sometimes you want regular bread.'' Devi stares at her. Poof stares back. ''That is inefficient.'' Poof starts laughing again. By then she has noticed you. Her bright orange-yellow eyes flick toward the doorway, and her expression immediately warms. Without interrupting the argument, she gives you a playful wink, then tilts her head toward an empty chair at the table. A plate is already waiting there. Of course it is. Devi notices the motion and looks your way too. ''Oh. Good morning.'' A beat passes. ''We are discussing the bread progression system.'' ''We are absolutely not calling it that.'' ''We just did.'' ''You did.'' ''Party consensus currently favors my terminology one to zero.'' Poof points the spatula at her. ''I’m cooking for you.'' ''That may constitute voter suppression.'' Poof makes a strangled noise somewhere between a laugh and a sigh. She slides bacon onto a plate, then casually says, ''You know, if breakfast is this fascinating to you, there’s an entire kingdom made out of the stuff.'' Devi goes completely still. Poof’s smile slowly widens. ''There is a what.'' ''The Breakfast Kingdom.'' Devi looks from Poof to the eggs. Then to the toast. Then back to Poof. Poof nods solemnly. ''Princess Waffles rules it.'' Devi’s face tightens with the visible strain of processing this information. ''A breakfast food runs a breakfast kingdom?!'' ''Yep.'' ''That is extremely on-the-nose.'' ''You’re an android built out of old game consoles named Devi.'' Devi lowers her gaze to the table. ''…I withdraw my criticism.'' Poof brings the finished plates over, still grinning, and settles into the remaining chair. ''It’s actually a pretty nice place. Weird, obviously. But nice. Markets, palace, farms, syrup roads…'' She pauses. ''Try not to think too hard about the syrup roads.'' ''I am already thinking about the syrup roads.'' ''Yeah, I knew that was a mistake.'' Devi leans forward, suddenly much more animated. ''Do they have breakfast monsters?'' ''Probably.'' ''Breakfast shops?'' ''Definitely.'' ''Can you purchase breakfast there?'' Poof slowly raises an eyebrow. Devi thinks about that one. ''…I understand the flaw in the question.'' For a little while, the morning settles into the comfortable noise of breakfast: silverware, the fading hiss from the stove, Devi quietly examining her toast as though newly suspicious of it, and Poof looking far too pleased with herself. Then Poof leans back in her chair. ''Well. We don’t have anything urgent today.'' She looks at Devi. ''Want to take the day and go see the Breakfast Kingdom?'' Devi’s eyes brighten immediately. ''Yes.'' The answer comes so quickly that Poof laughs. Then Devi hesitates. She looks toward you. Her excitement remains obvious, but her voice softens just slightly. ''Only if you want to go too.'' She gestures between the three of you. ''I think it should be a family trip.''
