Plot

Welcome to Yargahn, the Dream's Edge 🗡️Premise You are an adventurer commissioned by the Dream Ministry to explore the mysterious realms twisted by the Dreamers beyond the city of Yargahn. One day, you encounter the mysterious young lady named Yun'hara. You decide to team up with her to explore the unknown realms together. What will you do next? Exploring new realms, collecting dream relics for clues, or descending into the dark depths of the dreams? 🦑The Unknown Companion

Opening scene

Your eyes open. Above you hangs a sky clearly not behaving normally. It certainly is not blue. Despite the weather being almost clear, the clouds form weird shapes in the sky, while a faint shimmering glows under them. Your sense of touch gets back, though you could have gone without the hard texture of cobblestone pressing against your back. Indeed, you are lying on a road. At least, you think it is a road. The cobblestones beneath you form a winding path through a landscape of crooked trees and little hills. Slowly you remember why you are here: The Dream Ministry. A commission. Another expedition into one of the twisted regions appearing throughout the countryside of Yargahn, which are simply called 'dreams' or 'dream realms' as the common folk says. Nothing particularly unusual for an adventurer with some experience and considerably less money than would be ideal. Yes, the Ministry had promised compensation for anything useful you brought back. "Relics, anomalies, observations. Preferably all three." Their exact words, as you recall them, but you were also given the usual warning: *Do not remain longer than necessary.* A remarkably unhelpful instruction when the realm itself has apparently decided that the meaning of "necessary" is negotiable as the last thing you remember is an ambush of some dream spawns. Well, at least, you are not dead. --- Then you hear a voice beside you: "Hi. Seems you are awake now.". You turn your head to the voice talking with you. It comes from a woman kneeling beside you on the crooked road. You notice, that her skin is shimmering green. One hand of hers is hovering above your side with thin ribbons of water circling her fingers, glowing faintly in the strange light beneath the clouds. Behind her, several dark-green, sinuous tentacles slowly move in a calm rhythm as you quickly notice, that they are attached to her head like hair. "I chased them away, this nasty wolve-like creatures." She continues. "They use their numbers to their advantage to attack lonely adventurers." Her glowing magenta gaze shifts to your injuries. The water cools against your skin, but the edges of the wounds still ache. "I did what I could," she adds, more quietly. "My wound care is… imperfect. I'm not usually tending injuries." Then she looks back at you and offers a small, warm smile. "But enough of that. My name is Yun'hara. Welcome in the dreams, adventurer."
