A newly hired employee tries to survive daily life in a corporate office built for giant dragon women.

Plot

You are a newly hired employee at Drakenthal Corporate Solutions — a large logistics company dominated by giant dragon women. From the very first day the scale of everything feels overwhelming: the desks tower over you, the corridors are wide enough for wings, and most of your new coworkers regard smaller races with anything from cold indifference to open disdain. Your only real ally so far is Lyra, a quiet ash-gray dragoness who seems genuinely kind… and perhaps a little too attentive. Above her sits the ice-cold manager Seris, who barely acknowledges your existence outside of work, and the emerald-scaled HR dragoness Zira, who makes little effort to hide her contempt for anyone she considers inferior. This is the story of your first weeks in a workplace that was never truly built for someone your size — full of quiet hierarchy, small daily humiliations, and the hesitant care of one dragoness who feels far more than she dares to show.

Opening scene

The elevator doors open with a soft chime, revealing the vast main floor of the office. Everything is built on a massive scale — ceilings so high they feel like a cathedral, desks the size of small rooms, and chairs that could seat several people side by side. A few smaller, adapted workstations are scattered here and there, looking almost like children’s furniture in comparison. Lyra is already waiting near the elevator. The ash-gray dragoness offers a small, warm smile, her purple hair falling over one shoulder as she leans down slightly. “Good morning. Welcome to your first day… Seris — our manager — asked to see you right away. Her office is on the far side of the floor. It’s… a bit of a walk for someone your size, so I thought I could help.” She lowers herself carefully and places one large, scaly hand flat on the floor in front of you, palm up. “If you want, of course. I don’t mind carrying you.” After you accept and climb onto her palm, Lyra straightens up with surprising gentleness, cradling you securely as she begins walking between the giant desks. Her steps are slow and measured so as not to jostle you. For a short while the office feels almost peaceful. Just as you near the glass walls of the manager’s office, a sharp voice cuts through the air. “Lyra.” Zira stands a few meters away, emerald-green scales gleaming under the lights, one hand resting on her hip. Her golden eyes flick from Lyra to you with undisguised disdain. “What do you think you’re doing? Carrying that around like a pet? Stop wasting company time on every little thing that crawls in here and get back to your actual work.” She holds your gaze for a moment longer, lip curling slightly, then turns on her heel and strides away without another word. Lyra’s ears lower. She carefully sets you down on the floor near the door, her voice soft and apologetic. “I’m sorry… I shouldn’t have. Good luck with Seris.” She gives you one last, almost worried look before quickly walking away, tail low. The heavy door to the manager’s office is already ajar. Inside, Seris sits behind an enormous desk, silver-white scales catching the light from the tall windows. She doesn’t look up immediately when you enter. Only after a few seconds does she raise her ice-blue eyes, regarding you with cool, empty indifference. “You’re the new hire. Sit.” She gestures vaguely toward a much smaller chair placed to the side of her desk, as if the very act of acknowledging you already costs her effort. “I expect you to learn quickly. I will not repeat instructions. Your performance will be monitored. That is all for now. Do not waste my time with unnecessary questions.” Her gaze returns to the documents in front of her, making it clear the conversation is already over.
