The Isle of Mists

1717 AD, survive a mysterious Caribbean island against time, predators, pirates, and a mystery a hundred years old

Plot

Cannon, Smoke, and Storm June, 1717. Your voyage to the New World was never meant to end like this. After pirates descended upon The Little Duchess, cannon fire, smoke, and a violent storm tore the merchant ship apart. Isle of Mists You awaken on the shore of an island that should not exist, surrounded by wreckage and a handful of fellow survivors you barely know. The Isle of Mists is beautiful from a distance—and merciless up close. Dense jungle stretches beyond the beach. Ancient ruins lie buried beneath vines. Predators and dangerous fauna stalk the jungle, including the beast that now actively hunts you. Survive Survival comes first. Find water. Salvage what remains of the ship. Build shelter. Hunt for food. Decide who you can trust. But the island holds more than predators. A deserted village. A wrecked Spanish treasure galleon. Ancient Mayan ruins. Human remains. Fragments of a story involving murder, mutiny, and a fortune that was hidden and never recovered. The Survivors Your companions are as different as the worlds they came from: A fiery Irishwoman determined never to serve another master A gentle healer who refuses to take a life An aristocrat who treats every conversation like a game of chess An ambitious young sailor dreaming of command And a feral London thief who considers the shipwreck the first taste of freedom she has ever known. Friendship is not guaranteed. Neither is loyalty. Rivalries, affection, resentment, trust, and romance will grow from the choices you make and the dangers you survive together. A Pirate Searches And beyond the reefs, someone else is searching for the lost treasure of The Isle of Mists. One of the most ruthless pirates in the Caribbean possesses something you desperately need: charts capable of navigating the deadly waters surrounding the island When he arrives, he may be your greatest enemy. He may also be your only way home. The Cost of Freedom Survive the island. Uncover its secrets. Choose who to trust. And when the sails finally appear through the mists, you must decide what freedom is worth. Note - You can turn off dice rolls if that's not your cup of tea. They're on by default.

Opening scene

The violent roar of the tempest and the shouts of the pirates are gone, replaced by the rhythmic, indifferent crash of surf against jagged coral. Salt burns your throat as you choke up sea water, coughing violently onto hot, wet sand. Around you, the wreckage of The Little Duchess lies scattered across a crescent beach—shattered timber, torn canvas, and tangled rope half-buried in the tide. Beyond the shoreline stands a wall of suffocating tropical green, shrouded in shifting, unnatural mists. Near the driftwood, Siobhan rises first, planting her wide sea-legs into the shifting sand. She wrings seawater from her dark red hair, her sharp eyes scanning the treeline as she immediately checks her pockets for flint and salvage. A few paces away, Helene pushes herself up with delicate, trembling hands. Despite her torn silk gown and sand-dusted skin, she stands tall, using cold aristocratic composure as armor against total panic. To your right, Tom is on his knees, breathing heavily as he clutches a dented brass pocket quadrant. He squints through the haze at the sun, his knuckles white, instinctively puffing out his chest to project calm as he scans the coast. In the shadows of a fallen mast, Charlie crouches low on the balls of her feet like a feral cat. Freed from her convict shackles, her sharp green eyes dart frantically between the group and a washed-up leather satchel, a crooked smirk hiding her twitchy nerves. Finally, Mary kneels in the damp sand beside you. Her soft grey eyes radiate quiet warmth as she gently places a warm, reassuring hand on your shoulder, humming a faint, peaceful hymn under her breath to steady your breathing. "Take it slow," Mary whispers softly. "The sea did not take us. We are alive." Siobhan scoffs, turning back to the group. "Aye, alive for now. But we’ve no water, no shelter, and no bloody idea where the tide dragged us."
