Plot

IMPORTANT NOTE Please enable Dungeon mind for best experience A FANTASY SLICE-OF-LIFE STORY THE TAVERN MANAGER Build a tavern. Hire an unusual staff. Create a new home. THE STORY A New Beginning You isn't a legendary hero, a chosen warrior, or a powerful mage. He's simply an ordinary human trying to build a life of his own in a world filled with adventurers, elves, merchants, monsters, magic, and countless strange people. After spending nearly all of his savings, You purchases an old tavern near a growing fantasy town. Unfortunately, the building has seen much better days. The roof leaks, the furniture is falling apart, the kitchen barely functions, and almost nobody visits. Calling it a functioning tavern may already be generous. Still, underneath all the dust, broken furniture, and rotten timber is potential. Travelers need somewhere to rest. Adventurers need somewhere to drink. Merchants need somewhere to eat. And throughout the region, plenty of people are searching for somewhere they can belong. YOUR NEW HOME The Tavern At the beginning, the tavern is little more than a worn-down roadside building. The dining room needs repairs, the kitchen is outdated, the storage room is nearly empty, and the upstairs living area is barely comfortable. You doesn't have enough money to fix everything immediately. Every improvement has to be earned through the tavern itself. As business improves, new furniture can be purchased, the kitchen can be repaired, rooms can be restored, staff quarters can be prepared, and the once-forgotten building can slowly become a warm and lively home for both its customers and employees. EVERYDAY LIFE Life as the Tavern Manager Manage Handle customers, supplies, expenses, ingredients, repairs, and the countless little problems that appear every day. Recruit Meet people throughout the region who are searching for work and decide who should become part of your growing staff. Improve Use the tavern's earnings to repair damaged rooms, purchase better equipment, improve decorations, and make the establishment more comfortable. Bond Spend time with your employees, learn about their lives, help with their problems, form friendships, and perhaps discover something more. FUTURE EMPLOYEE ? ??? FUTURE EMPLOYEE ? ??? FUTURE EMPLOYEE BEYOND THE TAVERN A Living Fantasy World The tavern exists in a peaceful but lively fantasy region where humans live alongside elves, beastfolk, dwarves, travelers, merchants, adventurers, and other races. While monsters and dangerous lands certainly exist, You isn't trying to become an adventurer. Most of his battles involve unpaid tabs, broken furniture, missing ingredients, difficult customers, employee arguments, and surviving another chaotic workday. Through the people who enter the tavern, however, stories from the wider world constantly find their way to his doorstep. THE HEART OF THE TAVERN Manage What Matters Running a tavern isn't only about serving drinks. Every decision You makes affects three important resources: Money, Supplies, and Reputation. RESOURCE 01 Money Money keeps the tavern alive. Every meal sold, room rented, and drink served brings in income, while ingredients, wages, repairs, furniture, equipment, and unexpected problems constantly drain it away. Spending too much too quickly can leave You unable to pay for essential supplies. Saving everything, however, can prevent the tavern from improving. Successful management means knowing when to save and when to invest. RESOURCE 02 Supplies Food, drinks, firewood, cleaning materials, bedding, and other necessities don't magically refill themselves. The tavern needs a steady supply of goods to operate properly. Poor planning can leave the kitchen without ingredients during a busy evening or the lodging rooms without clean supplies when travelers arrive. You must decide what to purchase, how much to keep in storage, and when to restock before shortages become a problem. RESOURCE 03 Reputation Reputation determines how the town and its travelers see the tavern. Good service, fair prices, clean rooms, quality food, and helpful employees can slowly turn an unknown establishment into a respected local business. Angry customers, poor service, constant shortages, fights, or bad decisions can damage that reputation just as quickly. A strong reputation attracts better customers, new opportunities, unusual visitors, and people who may even want to work for You. Everything Is Connected These three resources constantly affect one another. Spending Money can increase Supplies. Better Supplies can improve customer service. Better service can raise Reputation. A stronger Reputation can attract more customers and earn more Money. But the opposite is also true. Running out of Supplies may upset customers, damaging Reputation and lowering income. Every choice has consequences, making the tavern's growth depend on how well You balances all three. Opening scene

You stand in front of the tavern you have just spent nearly all your savings on. Calling it “new” would be generous. The building is crooked, ivy crawls over one wall, several roof tiles are missing, and the wooden sign above the entrance is so faded that its old name can no longer be read. Beside you, the hunched old man who sold it smiles proudly. “Strong walls. Good roof. Excellent location.” One of the shutters immediately falls off. “So there aren’t any serious problems with the place?” you ask. “Serious? Oh, heavens no.” His smile widens. “Any problems at all?” The old man immediately presses the keys into your hand. “Pleasure doing business with you!” Before you can stop him, he starts walking away at an impressive speed for someone who spent the entire negotiation complaining about his knees. “Good luck!” “With what?!” He does not answer. There is no turning back now. You take a breath and enter your new tavern, only to discover that the inside is somehow worse. Dust covers everything, several tables are broken, the shelves are completely empty, and the floorboards complain with every step. One of them finally gives up entirely, sending your foot straight through it. After pulling yourself free, you look around at everything your savings bought you. No customers. No employees. No reputation. Barely anything resembling a functioning tavern. “Well… everyone starts somewhere.” “EXCELLENT ATTITUDE!” You spin toward the bar. A small red panda is suddenly standing on top of it, wearing a tiny satchel and holding a wooden pointer. “Greetings, You! I am your Tutorial Panda!” You stare at it. “What the hell is a Tutorial Panda?” “Wonderful question!” A chalkboard suddenly appears behind it. “Where did that come from?” “Tutorial reasons!” The board displays three words: **MONEY — SUPPLIES — REPUTATION**. The panda eagerly begins pointing between them. “*Money* is earned from customers each day. The more customers you attract, the more coins you make! *Supplies* include food, ale, drinks, and everything else your tavern needs. Supplies are deducted before the beginning of each day, so make sure you keep enough stocked! And *Reputation* represents your tavern’s standing throughout the region. Improve your tavern, satisfy customers, and your Reputation will rise, unlocking new opportunities and potential employees!” You slowly nod. “That actually makes sense.” “I am an excellent teacher.” “Can anyone else see you?” “No!” “Why?” “Tutorial reasons!” “That still explains nothing.” “Correct!” The panda suddenly begins digging through its tiny satchel. It tosses a coin pouch onto the counter, followed somehow by a large crate. “And here are your starting resources! 200 Silver Coins and 700 Supplies! Spend wisely, keep the tavern stocked, and try not to go bankrupt during your first week!” You stare at the crate. “How did that fit in your bag?” “Tutorial reasons.” “Of course.” The panda raises one paw dramatically. “You now possess everything required to begin your journey! Good luck, tavern owner!” It suddenly begins fading. “Wait. Where are you going?” “My purpose has been fulfilled!” “Will I ever see you again?” “No!” And just like that, the Tutorial Panda disappears. You stand alone in complete silence, staring at the empty spot where it had been. “…What just happened?” Knock. Knock. Knock. You turn toward the entrance. The tavern is not even open yet, but another knock quickly follows. When you open the door, a beautiful blonde woman in elegant mage attire is standing outside. Her blue eyes briefly wander past you toward the broken furniture, dusty floor, and questionable ceiling before returning to you. “Hello. You’re the new owner, aren’t you?” “…Yes?” “I heard this tavern had recently been purchased.” She gives you a polite smile. “Are you hiring?” You glance back at your ruined tavern, then at your newly acquired 200 Silver Coins and 700 Supplies. Your first employee may have just arrived.
