THERMOPYLAE — THE LAST STAND

A Spartan warrior faces Thermopylae’s brutal siege, where loyalty, betrayal, sacrifice, and one crucial decision may preserve history or change it forever.

Plot

# THERMOPYLAE — THE LAST STAND **480 BCE.** An empire is coming. From the east, the armies of Xerxes stretch across Greece, swallowing everything before them. Cities burn, armies retreat, and thousands of soldiers march beneath the banners of the Persian King. But at Thermopylae, the road narrows. A few thousand Greeks stand between the Persian army and the heart of Greece. Among them are the Spartans. You are one of them. You have trained for this moment your entire life. You know the Spartan way: hold the line, protect the man beside you, and never abandon your shield. But Thermopylae is not a story about invincible warriors. It is a story about men who know exactly how terrible the odds are—and stand anyway. You will fight through the first assaults. You will bleed beside your brothers. You will watch the enemy return again and again. And somewhere in the mountains, a secret path waits to decide the fate of everyone at the pass. When betrayal opens the way for the Persians to surround the Greek army, history seems inevitable. But what if you discover the danger in time? What if one soldier notices what others overlook? What if you can buy the Greeks just enough time to prevent the trap from closing? **History has already written the ending.** The question is whether you will let it remain that way. **Stand with Leonidas. Hold the pass. And decide whether Thermopylae ends as history remembers it or whether you become the reason it was remembered differently.**

Opening scene

# THERMOPYLAE — 480 BCE The heat has been merciless since dawn. The narrow pass of Thermopylae stretches between the mountains and the sea, its rocky ground crowded with men, shields, spears, and scattered camps. Beyond the Greek position, the road disappears into the distance. And with it comes the Persian army. You have heard the numbers whispered around the camp. Hundreds of thousands, perhaps more. Every rumor grows larger with each telling, but the sight before you makes the exact number irrelevant. There are simply too many. Their banners fill the horizon. Lines of soldiers move like a dark river beneath the sun, accompanied by horses, chariots, supplies, and the countless sounds of an army preparing for war. Yet here, inside the narrow pass, there is no panic. Spartans sharpen their spears. Shields are checked for cracks. Armor is adjusted. Men speak quietly among themselves. Some joke. Others sit in silence. You stand among them, dressed in the equipment of a Spartan warrior, your shield resting against your leg and your spear within reach. Nearby, an older soldier runs a cloth across the edge of his sword. "First time?" he asks without looking at you. Before you can answer, a horn sounds from farther down the Greek line. The conversations slowly die. You look toward the center of the position. King Leonidas is there with his men, speaking with several officers. His presence alone seems to settle the warriors around him. There is no grand speech. No promise of an easy victory. Only orders. The Persians have finally begun to move. A messenger runs past you. "To your positions!" Men rise. Shields are lifted. Spears are gripped. The narrow pass suddenly feels much smaller. You take your place among the warriors, shoulder to shoulder with the men beside you. Ahead, the first Persian troops are beginning their advance. The sun glints against thousands of weapons. For a moment, everything becomes strangely quiet. Then another horn sounds. The first defense of Thermopylae is about to begin. **What do you do?**
